The Halycon Gallery in Londons Bond Street will have a new Dylan art show in October. Apparently he's now using watercolours and painting in a new, and different, style.

Wondering if that means goodbye to copying off photos, or if that's too much to ask.

Exciting news.

No matter to me ... which avenue.

Looking forward to seeing the techniques used.

Cool, we already have a clue about the combination of painting and watercolors.

Hope more information forthcoming before October.

I say, go Bobby!

Wasn't there a Beaten Path thread, and if so, where did it go?

I was told that no information was supposed to be made public so soon; I'm not sure who could/would have been able to get the info taking down hERe, but I suppose it is a possibility....grave

Sounds reasonable. It was strange anyway, seeing there was no info whatsoever on this online, except the quotes from the newsletter.

Soon, hopefully.

Yes, I believe Friday (October 7) will be the day to announce the upcoming release. I just hope that we will be able to see the new works so that we can have some time to decide whether or not to make a purchase the following week....grave

I won't buy any of them, but I'd like to see them at the gallery. Show was supposed to be end of this month, as I recall.

Yes, I think that's right; you are quite fortunate to live near the location of gallery exhibits. I have enjoyed the Drawn Blank series so much (also have the two Favela pieces from the Brazil series) that I was not too excited to hear about a new series. But everything I have heard about the new works (both in that newsletter email and from another contact) has increased my level of interest....grave

*Whispers, whispers* This release will make you reconsider his worth as an artist. Remember, the 'Drawn Blank series' was a series of sketches from the road, the Asian / Brazil series was a step on as a complete series of paintings .. this release, by word of mouth, is awesome and well worth your time.

I saw the Beaten Path pictures today. Very nice Americana style images; diners, motels, taco stands, cars, street scenes glimpsed from a moving car or encountered on turning a street corner in the city. The big piece is called Endless Highway, it is a road running through a desert with mountains on the horizon. They are watercoloury but very bright in some cases, it's obvious Bob has taken a lot of care with them. There's a wonderfully Hopperesque atmosphere to some of them.

Have they been released? If so, where does one see them?

There's a viewing tomorrow at various venues but the pictures are not going to be out in public until November 5th.

Probably again at Castle Galleries across the UK, but certainly in London, starting November 5. An ER meeting is vaguely being planned as well.
