I'm glad. I've always heard portrait, and it's a much better, less expected, line.

For those that missed out and are Interested in grabbing one...

Amazon(US) says they'll be getting more in Stock on November 15th. You can Order now at $175.

So that either means they are selling their left over stock(for returns purposes) & canceled pre-orders(no slip case!!!!).

Or

Simon & Shuster printed more... Which would be a true scumbag move.

I suppose how long the new stock lasts will answer this.

Does anyone know why the song "I'm not there" is missing from this book?

Dylan never sat and put the lyrics down. It was pretty much an improvisational piece.

Concerning Tell Me Momma: I've seen several versions of the lyrics and always thought that they changed when he was performing it on his '66 tour...

According to Heylin the opening couplet remained the same, but there were plenty of changes wrought to the rest of the song as it was played throughout the tour.

There were only 250 copies allocated for Australia. Mine should arrive next week.

Maybe to truly reflect the song title?

Actually, I thougt of this excellent point when I did not find the lyrics in the book.

But this is not the first time something is missing: The song "The Usual" is missing from "The Songs He Didn´t Write" (which is very surprising since Derek Barker is the author).

Also, on of Pink Floys´s albums is missing from the discography in the book thath was included in the box set "Shine On".

I think so too and just like the Denver and Glasgow hotel songs it tantalises and intrigues us but for the author it's probably just another cast off. How many songs do you think he has started like this in hotels and studios when the tapes weren't rolling? Do you think they should be in the collection?

It's his particular genius to "waste" inspiration you could say.

I don`t think it is fair to say that "I`m not there" is "just another castoff". But apart from that, leavinclaud`s point is well taken.

Just sent my copy back to Amazon for a full refund, no muss, no fuss. They paid for the postage, too. When they asked me the reason for the return I said that I had expected a slip case and that I had also expected the annotations to be more complete.

I'd also have expected that half the lyrics to BIABH wouldn't be printed upside down.... p.171-178. :? It was darn expensive to be such a mess.

I have no idea what you are talking about.
(If this was a joke and I missed it somewhere, I apologize)

So far, EVERY page is fine, including all of BIABH. Can't say that I've gone over the entire book, though.
