One of the 1987 UK shows in Birmingham (NEC) would have been my first had I not tragi-comically left the tickets in a drawer in my shared student flat after going home at the end of term, until a week after the show.
From what I hear, though, waiting 3 years was probably a good move

I'm a Kiwi, so my opportunities are pretty limited. Managed to wrack up 5 in the last eleven years, though, so it hasn't been bad going.

24/02/03 Queen's Wharf Event Centre
10/08/07 TSB Arena
27/08/07 Civic Theatre, Auckland
30/04/11 Vector Arena, Auckland
12/08/14 Claudelands Arena, Hamilton

Luckily - with the exception of 2011 - all pretty special shows; particularly 2003 and the Civic in 2007.

On Monday at Palais Theatre Melbourne.
Bob played the whole show. He was in good form .
At this stage he seems like a man in control of what he does.

You don't know how right you are tambach.
I started a countdown too after I got tickets for my first gig in '87( far too many months in advance) and then completely forgot them when I went home from University. Crushingly stupid. Took me 3 years to trust myself again. But wow Hammersmith Odeon Feb 1990 as your first time isn't bad

I have only see Dylan 5 times, in Rotterdam and Amsterdam, but one time i worked in the Heineken Music Hall. And i was just so close to him backstage, but so much security. Well for what its worth i build his stage and i put my hand on his organ and tour bus. I am not like that at all, like chasing starts etc. but hey its Dylan, Oh yeah and i moved the upright bass of Tony into the truck. So, poor story but i was never so closed to him, and i guess i never will be ;-)

Those shows were awesome, weren't they Llama? It was great getting together with you and Billy Pilgrim before and after the concerts!

Well I might have already posted in this thread a long long time ago, but I'll post again for posterity.

The only show of his I have ever been to is likely his least popular one ever. A very strange and unique venue indeed, and not really a lot of people there to be honest. As a matter of fact I have never seen or heard of anyone else here mention this show of his. And evidently it was the one and only time he had ever played there ...

The date was August 29, 1989 ... The location was the Pan American Center, in Las Cruces, NM. My best friend at the time (Mark) and I drove down from Albuquerque to see him and stay the night over there.

The acoustics were probably the worst I have ever heard at any live event up until that time. You could barely make out anything Bob was playing. It truly sounded horrible (not Bob, but the acoustics. This was a terrible place for a live event).

At that time Bob was touring with his buddy who used to play guitar on SNL ... Who's name I can't recall now.

Yeah, those were the days, man ... Good time all around.

But honestly, at the time my friend and I thought we were on top of the world, because we had actually been to a Bob Dylan concert. And as far as we were concerned it just didn't get any better than that.

But honestly, I think I would much rather have been able to have attended some of the Rolling Thunder shows, instead.

But, oh well ... Just thought I'd share this, since most people don't know anything at all about this show of his. My friend at the time thought that they had just woke Bob up from off of the tour bus, and told him, "Hey, get up, we're here" . My buddy Mark didn't even think Bob knew town he was in. It was a very rushed show, and obviously was an odd venue, in a 'middle of nowhere' location. Probably just a remote stop between two more popular locations I would imagine.

That would be G.E. Smith.

That's a real setlist?! Wow. I attended shows during that era and it's hard to remember how much he mixed it up back then. As you say, great times.
