Oh, probably a diligent planner too.

Dylan, Inc. knows what their doing and tries to maintain the Grossman-initiated mystique.

Bob Dylan is awesome. He is awesome. His concert was awesome.
Go see his show, it is awesome. Bob's vocals are awesome. His harmonica playing is awesome.
Bob is extremely articulate and you can undertand every word he says or sings perfectly awesome. So awesome.
The ushers are morons and are very bored and have nothing better to do then yell at people for texting on their phones. Nobody is going to make money off of dark, crappy, shaky , cell phone picture and video clips.....sheesh....give us a break homies! Brah..... da kine
Favorite moment: My favorite moment was when Bob Dylan was awesome.
Setlist: Everybody must get stoned, all along the watch tower, how does it feel to be a rolling stone, the answer my friend is blowing in the wind and some other awesome songs.
Opening act(s): The Rolling STones, Cheech and Chong and Black Sabbath

Just read that the North American tour would be announced tomorrow. I hope it's true and I'm hoping for a return to Northern California.

Did I mention that Waiting For You is one of my favorite items in The Set?

No need, "Waitin' For You" is just one of them perfect songs. Hopefully, we'll finally get to hear it live & in person.

A couple other things...

Last time we saw him I couldn't believe how great "Duquesne Whistle" went over; can't wait to experience that again.

I've also never been to a show with an intermission. I like the idea of it. Kind of retro and vintage. Splits up the action and allows some beverage purchasing without the risk of missing anything. Also: I LOVE the idea of a set starting with "High Water."

What a pity it wasn’t a dance – lovely foxtrots and waltzes in there.

Intermissions are a nice touch. Gives a chance to take in Set 1 & be excited for Set 2.
Hope he keeps them for Fall. Seems he will, based on most of the venue choices.

agreed on all accounts Delvis.

i'm happy to say the intermission will remind me of the '15 minute' intermissions at Phish shows, which were inevitably at least 45 minutes, even though they religiously said, 'see you in 15 minutes.' once they even did a count-down to synchronize watches with the crowd.*

they'll definitely do the NBC chimes at Cadillac. I heard them there before for a dramatic play.
the NBC chimes of cattle rousing, as opposed to say, freedom.

*Later, I saw Trey perform solo, during which he'd play solo acoustic phish songs during 'intermission,'
which reminded me of the Dylan shows I saw in the nineties. Intermission for the Band, but not the Artist.

Those were nice Llama. 3 acoustics then back at it with the band.
Acoustic Gates was mind blowing. It took incredible concentration to follow it.

Bob is definitely a touring machine. According to Olof Bjorner's site www.bjorner.com by the time this current amazing tour is finished Bob will have performed 2657 concerts since the start of the Never Ending Tour back on June 7, 1988 in Concord, CA. His current band will have surpassed the previous record of 441 shows (set by the 20th incarnation of the NET Band which was comprised of Tony, George, Donnie, Stu, and Denny Freeman). Since Charlie joined up with Bob again on October 4, 2009 in Seattle this 21st incarnation of the NET Band will have performed a record 449 shows together when the tour ends on December 3rd in New York. The tying and record breaking shows will both be held in Philadelphia on November 22nd and 23rd. Aside from the 27 shows with Duke Robillard in Spring and Summer of 2013 and the 11 shows with Colin Linden in the Summer of 2013 these guys have been together for a long time. Tony's been with Bob since June 3, 1989. George has been in the band since January 31, 2002. Stu has been with Bob since June 4, 2004. Donnie has been in the band since March 7, 2005. Charlie was with Bob from June 5, 1999 until May 12, 2002 before coming back in 2009. Their experience together shines through in their current performances and I feel like we are all very fortunate to hear these shows in person and on the recordings that people share. If Bob is a touring machine, these are the guys that help keep the machine running in top form.

Excellent post, Masked...Bob & the Mechanics...some tasty, highly digestible facts listed here.

I was ready to point out Duke & Colin and, boom, you were right there.

Thanks for researching and sharing!

So, does your Philly record-breaking number include or exclude those Duke & Colin shows?

The Duke and Colin shows are not included in the numbers with the current group of guys. Duke's 27 shows were with the 22nd incarnation of the NET Band and Colin's 11 shows were with the 23rd. Denny and the 20th NET band started up on April 15, 2005 and played their 441st and final show on August 16, 2009. The longest tenured NET Band before them was the 9th NET Band (Tony, Bucky Baxter, John Jackson, and Winston Watson) and they played 358 shows from February 5, 1993 to August 4, 1996. These statistics have interested me greatly since I started collecting shows and I'm very thankful that Olof has all the data on his site. I can't imagine how much work it must have taken over the years to keep www.bjorner.com up to date.
