Expecting Rain

We may be nearing an anniversary, and I for one would like to make it as festive as possible, which could require some planning.

That is a good question. A quick check of members yields this:

the first person to join Expecting Rain was Karl Erik, Thursday, October 28, 2004. Next fall I say we all meet at smoke's house!

The site itself is older...at least August 1994 according to the archives.

That sounds about right. Clinton was elected in '92. Probably took a couple years for Al Gore to invent the internet.

Actually I would love it if Karl would take a moment and post a brief history of ER and it's evolution.

His trials and tribulations in running it going on 20 years!!

Yes, thanks. I knew it was old but had no idea it was one if the first websites in the world. Amazing the fatefulness of some decisions we make...I can't thank you enough for all your hard work over the years.

Yes Karl, you may sit in your little igloo over there in Norland sometimes wondering if it's all worth it.

Yeah, a long time ago. Lots of ridiculous fighting going on. KE shut it down.

Somehow I missed this entire thread (I can't read them anymore at work ) - but I definitely wanted to thank Karl Erik for posting this history of ER and also to thank him once again for the best Dylan website on the internet.
