I most often read the boards by using View Active Topics. Nearly every morning I get this message. Only in the morning does it happen (EST), and sometimes it only lasts for a few minutes. Sometimes for 20-30 min. or longer. It's the most efficient way to see new posts so I wish it was working properly. Is it only me?

No it's not just you, raging. It happens daily here (UK) around 2:00pm. (I use view new posts.) When I get this message, I just go and do something else for half an hour - or use the Board Index.

I've always thought it was due to some daily housekeeping by the Board hosts (phpBB).

Thanks, mabel. Now that makes sense if it's happening all over at approximately the same time. I'll quit complaining and be happy things are being maintained. I just wish it was a different time of day since it's my first check-in of the day. Now, there I go complaining again

For two days I've been unable to search... I am in dire need of finding a couple of threads for posting or my head is going to explode. The world is beckoning for my ideas and opinions and life on planet earth as we know it may be hanging in the balanace.

Please get this corrected. Exploding heads are quite messy. The world awaits.

I was having problems yesterday, also. The routine maintenance (?) seems to start a little later and last much longer than it used to. At least a couple of hours.

I ain't cleaning up any heads!!

I sent KE and Madcow a PM about the system being slow. Also, search function is down alot and we cannot get on at times.

They're aware of the problem and have a call in to their software support team.

The plot thickens....

KE has reported that the system issues should be resolved now.

However, right now I am unable to update the news page. Hope it is back to normal in 7 1/2 hours.

Unable to use Search - I'd normally expect this message between about 1300 and 1500 UK time; it's now 1725 and the Search has been unusable since I logged on about 1600. As I said above, no great problem; the Board Index works fine.

No search function since about 8 a.m EST. It's now 2:38 p.m.

Support found a process taking up 75% of the server resources. They terminated the process, and now Search seems to be working again.
