I know what you mean. Years from now, some kid will be listening to BOTT for the first time and say, "Sure, this is pretty cool, but I can't stop thinking about those paintings he made forty years later."

I like the first few years of his work.
We bought three signed prints from the first year release, and enjoy them very much.
I really do not like last years controversial "copied" sketch/paintings that caused a big stir.
The few prints I've seen from the new current release just look like crap to me.

Perhaps the artwork is the time when the lyrics and songwriting come together for him... a songwriting therapy, of sorts. Inspiration comes in many ways and sometimes we have to step back or step into something else to get our bearings back... to put a fresh eye/ear to it. By the sounds of it he's been painting a very long time which seems to indicate he enjoys it and in typical Dylan fashion, I hear his best paintings remain locked away with some of his best music, unreleased. He's like that, you know?
