Here is a copy of my first ever post (09.2007)

What's great about Grand Coulee Dam is that such a riveting performance came during a very quiet period in Dylan's public life, and so has gained almost mythical status as a return to form!

weren't i a good boy?

If you send me a PM I will send you a PM that has an excellent needle drop, but you may have heard it already.

Leave it to Stephen O to start his own self - appreciating page

we would have gotten around to it, don't you worry ! in fact that will probably be your gift, to ignore this thread and then start a redundant one. it's the ER way...

You're lucky Stephen. Alas, my very 1st post has disappeared into the ether. Along with 300+ others. :( :x :|

No actually!! This is a QUESTION thread!

Stephen is asking a question. Hence the title of the thread plus the little punctuation thingy at the end of said question.

I'm sure as far as a "celebration thread" Stephen will be expecting a nice "congrats" thread in Off Topic as is only fitting, as well as customary.

Having pointed out this OBVIOUS(to most) fact my statement below is perfectly valid.

Do I get a lovely little prize for my titanium status?

Yes. In a very short time you will get a posted title just above your avatar. And if you're good possibly a little thread acknowledging your accomplishment :D

What more could you possibly want?

Just the knowledge that you have posted 5000 posts and for you it will be a constant reminder that at one stage you were ahead of me on the post count.

Bob says:

I noticed at the ceremony that you left all your bags behind.
The driver came in after you left; he gave them all to me, and then he resigned.
The priest wore black on the seventh day, and watzed around while the building burned.
You didn't trust me for a minute, babe. I've never known the spring to turn so quickly into autumn.

Nice bit of titanium! You won't be able to resist making more posts and spoiling your lovely neat tidy round number, will you?

Don't you dare RESIGN from ER, at exactly 5000 posts, if that's what you're thinking, stephen. There is still much important work to be done here!

Congrats, by the way. Well done, sir.

Yes! It has become cliche! Don't be cliche, stephen.

Is this why you announced it ahead of time? To draw our attention to your swan song, your titanium leap off of the ER bridge?

Say it isn't so!

Jeez Johnny!! I just noticed your post count. I hope you and I won't suffer a similar fate. I mean suppose A time warp has enveloped ER ala The Langoliers :o 5,000 being the edge of some kind of blackhole!!

STEPHEN!! COME BAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!
