Bob Dylan and His Band Hop Farm Festival
Paddock Wood, England
Saturday, 30 June 2012
Here we go. In several weeks the 17th show of the
'2012 Never Ending Tour' will also kick off the European summer wave of Bob shows. Wahooooo! Currently this kick-off is slated to take place at the controversial
Hop Farm Festival, unless we get lucky and an earlier show is announced. Surprises have happened before, so it's not out of the question. Keep your fingers crossed for all of our Irish friends out there for an early stop off. Meanwhile, what's going on at Hop? Looks like Patti Smith will be opening up for Bob. Wonder if she'll join him again? Finally, everyone please take the proper precautions as it looks like there's enough rules and regulations to drive fans away from this particular venue. The no-sponsor thing seems cool though. We've had our share of credit cards and banks and soft drinks so far this year. Have fun Hoppers!

Paddock Wood, ENGLAND - Bob Dylan will make his only UK festival appearance of the summer alongside Peter Gabriel and Suede at the Hop Farm. The 70-year old singer will also be joined on the three-day bill for the festival in Kent by Damien Rice, Primal Scream and Patti Smith and her band...
...Dylan's Never Ending tour, as it is nicknamed, is said to have begun on 7 June 1988 with a gig in Concord, California, and has encompassed 2,394 shows. Dylan previously played the Hop Farm festival in 2010. Joining Dylan will be Gabriel and his band the New Blood Orchestra, and Suede, making their only festival appearance in the UK this summer.
The Hop Farm festival, which was founded five years ago by promoter Vince Power, is an independent event that prides itself on its "no sponsorship, no branding" ethos. Last year's headliners included Prince and Morrissey. This year's concert takes place in Paddock Wood, Kent, on 29-30 June and 1 July.
