La nueva dirección del festival, que está bajo el mando del presidente de Ediciones Musicales Clipper's, Juli Guiu, aspira a convertir esta cita en "un referente internacional del Mediterráneo equivalente al Montreux Jazz Festival", según Guiu.

Interesting, so with Bilbao out of the equation and San Sebastian being merely 50 km away from Bayonne (and thus unlikely), where does that leave us re: more Spanish shows?

I don't think so, 20 July is the date of the Bayonne show. They probably list it because it's nearby.

@AdS: I don't see why it's out of the equation. First they sold Benicassim, next they'll sell Cap Roig, then the next....

I can only pay the cheapest...but I´m seriously thinkin about not going there.. :( :(

Sorry to repeat myself, but what did you expect?

Also, it totally proves what I said about prices earlier in this thread (or was it the Montreux one?). Bob's charging the same fee everywhere, Cap Roig as exactly the same capacity as Montreux (1,800) and prices are almost identical. Proves that my calculations were pretty accurate, I guess.

JP, I figured if they promote the Bayonne show as the "local" gig in Bilbao, I don't think they'll add one there. But yes, maybe I was jumping the gun with that conclusion.

It was never going to be cheap, but there's a difference of up to 100€ for the same seats as last time.

it is not possible. My question doesn't even make sense "in Bilbao". Time to revise my knowledge on Spanish geography

That was before "MT and "TTL" hit No. 1 and Bob hit 70. We're paying the "This could be the last time" prices now that the Stones have been charging ever since 1997. And while this probably and hopefully won't be his last time in Europe, he's probably not going back to Cap Roig in six or Montreux in 11 years.

Still, I think it's too much. I paid 100€ for Leonard Cohen. Bad seat, but yes "this could be the last time" so I agreed. Maybe Bob won't play Cap Roig after the show, but 260 € ?

There are sometimes little venues where the price of the ticket is ok, like Milano last summer.
And you know, for festivals like Montreux and Cap Roig, there are big sponsors, who bring a lot of money. I've seen a chart where they were showing that in Montreux, the tickets were only the little half of their income. The price of the ticket could be lower. It's their choice.

Now I'm slightly happier to not be able to go to Cap Roig. I'm thinking if I could maybe I would have done boicott for this prices. The 100€ tickets are indecent.

About the Bilbao thing, it seems the Baionne show is included in some kind of festival centered in Bilbao.

Why not, for both cities are euskera.

Bad news...there is already a pre-sale going on for the Cap Roig gig. But only the bank´s clients are allowed to buy.
So not only very very expensive tickets, but also the best seats will not go on sale next tuesday, May 2nd...

That's factually wrong. Everybody who finds out the presale code that they give to the bank customers can buy them. We'd just need that code word / number.

So now, we just have to find a client of this spanish private bank, and be kind enough with him, so that he gives us this fvcking code and pay half of the ticket? Easy.

Those very lovely clients of this very lovely bank pay very lovely lower prices as well.... so if we get the very lovely code, well, we can safe a few €uros.

I've received a message from a friend saying that not only the clients of the bank can book the tickets, but the front row is reserved for the VIP of this private bank.
I've already worked in private bank, and let me tell you that the VIPs don't have problems to join the ends of month.
So Johanna, if you find one like that, marry him.
