He seems to avoid any song with any resemblance of a melody, while sticking to blues derivates. Could be on account of his "voice", could be he just wants "to jam".

My guess is that either he sees himself as a "real, mean, genuine blues man", or that he realizes that he can't handle melodies anymore on account of his limitations in the vocal departement..

We've seen better renditions of LARS last year, no doubt. The arrangement is quite the same, though, and so is the voice. And, hey, shooting_star_night is definitely right, it was sort of a 'warm up' gig - i mean who knows if there was any rehearsing at all?
