Why? A career spanning selection of songs, some hits and much loved album tracks.

It'd be nice to have something a bit different, that's all, the setlists always have looked fairly similar to this since fall 2010

Sure it would, I guess my expectations are low (until the new album) plus it seems more like him these days to pick up where he left off and introduce any new material a bit more slowly. I would love a new opening and closing to "the show" but for someone who is there and only sees him rarely they probably work just fine. Thin Man is incredibly powerful in person and a potent way to end the main set. First version in five months!!

Thank you Bill. I like the look of that set list. It looks like a good run of songs.

Not a bombshell of a tour opening though.

Thanks kindly, Mr Pagel!

As for the setlist contents, when was the last time he played Brazil? Four years ago. It's not like people get the chance to go see him every year, or every half year. Those who know and appreciate what he does these days will have known what to expect. We're a spoiled bunch (of 32 registered users tops waiting for the setlist last night).

And because he last came 4 years ago, the brazilian public has to endure Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat, Things Have Changed, The Levee's Gonna Break, Trying to Get To Heaven, Summer Days, Highway 61 Revisited, and Thunder On The Mountain

It sounds like a double punishment, like 'No arms, no chocolate'

I don't know what's wrong with people. Nobody has to go. Why would he change his setlist at this moment? He does it nowhere, not even as rumored for the Chinese. Honestly, I don't understand why people would expect anything else. There's still enough left on youtube to check what you will get when going to a show these days. Btw, Things Have Changed is a very great song and constantly very well performed.

No, sure, you are right: nobody has to go.
But tell me, why did you spend half of the night at ER if it's not because you were hoping something else? And why is it wrong to be deceived (it's an euphemism) that he played again the same songs?

Because I like the excitement, it's hard to withdraw from it. It was fun, but I wasn't expecting any earth shaking things to happen. Better don't really ask me why, because it makes no sense. I read the list finally, thought, "Oh well," and went to bed. But to me it feels good to think that at this moment I know he is on the stage somewhere playing.

A setlist as comfortable for him now as any routine for any seventy year old.
