Album or not, the tour goes on...

This. I'm really looking forward to the new album - but if I had to choose between one more year of the NET and a new record I wouldn't have to think twice. Naturally, another year of touring plus a new record would be perfect - let's hope it really happens...

I don't mind LARS if the other songs are thrown out

I will take whatever he sends our way for the simple reason that we can't change it.
I take pleasure in any new arrangement of any song, especially if improvised jamming is allowed (rare). I try not to get hung up on the actual set list itself since it really doesn't tell the story. That said, if the above tunes(including Rolling Stone) were never played again I would not lose one wink of sleep. I choose to accept that it is what it is.

And never was heard....a discouraging word....

Haven't the encores been lame for a while now? Are encores supposed to be lame?

Damn, no. What year did that one come out? I thought that I had the entire Dylan cat-alog.

Too right, Maria. Some beautiful performances ('93-'95 especially), and what a classy way to wrap up a show.

I just looked to see what has been going on with Conor Oberst(frontman for Bright Eyes) and they are playing newport folk festival. It says very special guests to be announced. I wish Bob was playing. The festival is the end of july. It would be epic:(

Nope to both propositions. Although I think the best encores Bob ever did was on the 2003 tours, with Cats in the Well, LARS and AATW. I know Freddie Koella wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but his lead guitar on AATW was just great. And it hasn't sounded the same since.

He will never drop LARS anymore as it is what gets the crowd going the most and this is what he likes nowdays.

I'd like him to keep Tangled as the performances last year were just superb.

I'd like him to put more varying opener songs.

It would be nice to see some new 'older' songs making their way to the setlists; possibly ones he has never played live or at least not for a very long time. Different arrangements would be nice as well.

Would be nice to see a change from last Summer US tour as it was a steady block of songs; perhaps he will spice 'things' up a bit this year

I like it. Yay, Central America. Which is in the direction of North America too. Mexico is right on the way. Another link from front page. Lepidus followed Dylan94's trail.

This is all I could really find so far:
Quote:
The Pepsi Center is a new exhibition at the World Trade Center Mexico
People were complaining about the new Pepsi Center coming in because the parking situation would get even worse. One guy even theeatened to switch to Coke (although he didn't say which kind.) So take public transpo or a taxi to the show(s).

In regards to this statement on the front page that Dylan94 is referring to:
Quote:
This morning there is an ad in the Mexico City major newspaper REFORMA announcing a an upcoming Bob Dylan Show at the Mexico City Pepesi Center WTC on May 11th. from Alberto Ortega Gurza

Well, it makes sense if the Costa Rica rumor is true...And if you are on a world tour. I'm up for Mexican shows!

And I now see that our front page has Mexico City listed for May 11th in the lower right-hand corner AND prior to our friends listing it at Dylan, Inc or Bill Pagel's page. Wow, ballsy. I like it.

Here's another source for the Mexico City show:
www.everything-live.com/

That would put the tour at just shy of 4 weeks long so far.

Strange. When I posted the Monterrey and Guadalajara shows were on his website but now they aren't.
The Costa Rica one is though (May 5). So they were booked/planned but then retracted? What gives?

Any theories, fellow Bobcats?
