I also really like this song, but this line always made me laugh as I thought Dylan was intentionally making light of someone struggling with vanity over their thining hair, which can be simply exasperating on a windy day.

Train-I-Ride

That moaning, groaning harmonica intro to Stuck Inside of Mobile...The Last Train to Bobsville lurching into life, hauling those boxcars out of the switching yards on their surreally picaresque journey to the Unpromised Land. Gets me every time.

Well it could be so many and I have to stop myself from waxing lyrical over a selection of nearly choices but the poster asked for one so one they shall get!

ISIS (albmum version from Desire)

I just love everything about this performance. It sounds so fresh to this day, the piano tingles the spine, it grooves like no other Dylan song up to that point, the lyrics are great but it's Bob's vocal performance that really does it for me. The rhythm, timing and melodic variety of his delivery turns what could have been a 7 minute four chord dirge into a thing of startling power and beauty. If this song comes on I am empowered to stop whatever it is I'm doing, an inane grin usually spreads over my face and I can't help but to get on my feet, dance and sing along.

I'm with the guy on the first page that picks the version of "Tonight I'll be Staying Here With You" from the official release of Bootleg Series Vol. 5, I just remember being hit with an overwhelming feeling that this was the most magnificent Live performance I'd ever heard. To put it simply, for me Bob Dylan is religion, and The Rolling Thunder Revue is the word

When I first heard the Tonight, I'll Be Staying Here with You"(the live boot version the rev referred to at the beginning of this thread) I too was blown away. I couldn't even get on to the rest of the cd for awhile just blown away by theabsolute glee in Dylan's performance!!

The other one is and always has been Shelter fron the Storm from Hard Rain.

Trev may be unorthodox to the point of criminal incompetence in his loft insulation, but he's pretty much on trend in his appreciation of Dylan's greatest songs - Visions, Tangled, McTell. However, the one song that I feel all fevered and fetishistic about is Angelina.

Visions of Johanna from the Bootleg series, thin - wild mercury gone mad. Boots of Spanish Leather and She Belongs to me take some beating, but this particular Visions is stunning.
