I'd prefer he tours alone. Bobby that is. But would have been nice to see Tom Petty though.

Let's start right here.... there's that rumor about a double header tour with Tom Petty next year - now Tom's coming to Europe for his first major concert in 20 years, headlining Friday night at the Isle of Wight festival in June. "Exciting" headliner for Saturday to be announced. :?:

Just a guess...but I don't see Petty and Bob touring again. Petty, while not as hot as he was, would be the draw. And if we thought a lot of ticketholders (probably two words) left after MK....we ain't seen nothin' yet, if Petty opens.

Was that just an incorrect rumour from the start or did something happen?

Is Dylan still on for next year, solo or otherwise?

What...does JP have a personal hot line to Bob? But of course he's still on...until we see otherwise. I mean, when was the last year...he wasn't on?

Well, I've established Ms Parker is NOT Bob Dylan but she seems closer to it than most of us. As for him touring next year; that's what I believe myself but all the folks saying that a duet with Mark Knopfler was Dylan's last ever performance are making me nervous.

I think Bob should tour with Devo.

JP goes to the shows...she doesn't book them. Nobody here has a clue about what Bob is gonna do ('cept for me 8)) . I don't see any significance in Bob and MK playing a duet. Just two musicians that go way back, playing a song together at the end of a tour...at a locale where MK is popular. It's silly to read anything into it. So...GET A GRIP ON YOURSELF!!!

1985 (and I was still lucky enough to see him anyhow).

The whole Petty/Dylan rumour was only suggesion of a Dylan fan (not in this forum) who said that he was in contact with somebody of Bobs management and posted it in a blog.
The original statment was like this:
There will be a collobaration and tour with a big star with whom dylan worked together in the past. (first person who comes in mind is indeed Petty and not Knopfler)
Few minutes later there were the first rumours in this forum about the tour with Petty and about the 40-80 shows etc....

The whole Dylan/Petty tour rumour was only about the Dylan/Knopfler tour.

(Great is the actual Bangladesh rumour:
Desh TV has invited the legendary musician, songwriter, producer, visual artist, poet, writer, director, and screenwriter to Bangladesh. It has been confirmed by Desh TV authorities that Bob Dylan has primarily accepted the invite and if everything goes according to plan, he will be in Bangladesh in 2012. Desh TV contacted Bob Dylan through his secretary, the primary invite was for him to come to Bangladesh in March 2012, however, he will be busy during that time. Hence, the date and time for his arrival in Bangladesh is yet to be confirmed.
Desh TV authorities are planning to hold a concert upon his arrival in Bangladesh, the probable venue for the concert is Bangabandhu National Stadium.
The organizers have also confirmed that the concert will be aired live from the venue.

Really? I laugh my ass of. (All i have to do is dreaaaaaaaaaaaaam)

Not true. The Petty rumor came up at the end of the London run. What's true is that it was said to be from someone on Bob's team. They said that the posters were already printed for that tour and they were all ready to go at the beginning of next year. However I've spoken to someone now who usually knows these things, who told me that Petty's going to tour Europe around the time of the Isle of Wight festival - but without Bob.

Al Santos, or Bob?

All others from the tour crew and Fans on the road aren't very trustworthy. They never were.
BTW we had the Petty/Bob rumours every second year since beginning of the NET and EVERYTIME somebody was talking to somebody who knows such things.

The talk about already printed posters is as old as the beard of the big guy (what's his name) at the mixing desk next to the stage.

Let's wait for the facts.
If theres no tour anymore, then it shoulf be. We all had the priviliege to see Bob many times.

I'm liking the Bangladesh rumor. Most interesting and realistic one up to this point on this thread. Not sure how reliable the source is that's listed on today's news. Certainly no worse than what we see so far. I'd love to get back to Bangladesh. It's been a while...fingers crossed for another Asian leg, but so soon?

@Maria:
Oh yes, so I guess you were there when a few of us were talking after the London shows last month, and know exactly what was said. Not?

And as of now, the tour will continue. There is a big chance that there will often / always be co-headliners, Petty or not. You don't seem to have a clue who I'm talking to or what I'm talking about, so.... let's just leave it at that.
