Is World Gone Wrong in anyone's top ten Dylan records? It is for me, I absolutely love it. It's been slowly creeping up the list for me. Lone Pilgrim has to be one of the best things Dylan ever did. Any thoughts/comments are welcomed!

If I am counting the top 10 Dylan albums with which I have a special relationship, then yes. It might not be in his 10 best albums, but it is among the top 10 that made an impression on me/contributed to me being a fan.

Delia, Lone Pilgrim, Two Soldiers are all top-shelf, and the album has a cohesiveness of sound and mood, but "Top Ten" seems a bit of a stretch.

Probably. Not top five, but somewhere around number nine.

Yes; absolutely in my top ten. In my top five on a personal level. At times it's the absolute best, for me.

Definitely in my top ten. A great album. There aren't many who does traditional songs better than Dylan.

Its an important undervalued album because going back to other peoples songs seemed to have inspired his own creative process with time out of mind.

It just might be that Triplicate etc may just do the same.

I think of Good As I and World Gone as a double album.

Good As I Gone Wrong

Totally agree with your take on WGW and what it meant at that time in Dylan's career. On a personal level, it reinspired me as a fan. I am still not sure what to do with the current 5-CD span of covers. I am holding out for one last masterpiece, but I would be happy if the sound/direction took everyone by surprise relative to what he has been doing lately.

Shadows, Fallen Angels and Triplicate was different to what people expected and there was the very rare complaint beforehand that his own modern albums used too much blues format and tradition, so Bob delving into the american songbook was a risk and it was a risk that some people were never going to give a chance to from the beginning.

Theres also another album of traditional songs recorded with David Bromberg that remain mostly unreleased or bootlegged and I think thats a double albums worth of material isnt it ? so if hed have released these we would have had a similar pattern of what we have now wouldnt we? and I dont think Good as I been to you or world gone wrong were as well thought of as they are now when they were released.

Bobs already said that this current phase is over, but as long as he took on another genre of music i wouldnt mind more covers. its a bonus if this last detour has inspired a "proper" Bob Dylan album, id be as happy as yourself but this late in the game Ill take almost anything.
