What are your top ten tracks from the 2 CD edition (or the first 2 CDs of the deluxe)? Out of 30 tracks, if you had to boil it down to 10.

I'm making a stab, probably subject to change later. This would be my 10 track playlist:

Slow Train (Disc 2)
Gotta Serve Somebody (Disc 2)
When You Gonna Wake Up? (Disc 1)
Precious Angel (Disc 1)
Covenant Woman (Disc 1)
What Can I Do for You? (Disc 1)
Gonna Change My Way of Thinking (Disc 1)
Watered-Down Love (Disc 2)
Slow Train (Disc 1)
Caribbean Wind (Disc 2)

Argh, such a tough call. There's just too many great songs here. Still, I'll give it a shot:

Studio
1. Caribbean Wind (Rehearsal)
2. Making A Liar Out Of Me (Rehearsal)
3. Dead Man, Dead Man (Outtake)
4. When He Returns (Outtake)

Live
5. Caribbean Wind
6. Blessed Is the Name (Unreleased song – Nov. 20, 1979)
7. Slow Train (Nov. 16, 1979)
8. When You Gonna Wake Up? (April 18, 1980)
9. Maggie’s Farm (Live in London)
10. In the Summertime (Oct. 21, 1981)

Good runner ups include either version of "Cover Down, Pray Through" and any version of "Ain't Gonna Go To Hell For Anybody."

I'd also probably rate "Yonder Comes Sin" and "Thief On The Cross" higher if I didn't have access to the bootlegs for years :)

In no particular order:

1. Gotta Serve Somebody (Studio)
2. Trouble in Mind (Studio)
3. When he Returns (Studio)
4. Caribbean Wind (rehearsal)
5. Cover Down Pray Through (Toronto)
6. Girl from the North Country (London)
7. Covenant Woman (studio)
8. Groom's Still Waiting at the Alter (studio)
9. Dead Man, Dead Man (studio)
10. Every Grain of Sand (rehearsal)

Surprised myself by only finding spots for 2 live tracks in there but in truth the studio material brings me back to the spirit of the imperious BS I-III at times.

Y'know, the questions does specify..."What are your top ten tracks from the 2 CD edition (or the first 2 CDs of the deluxe)?" This was supposed to be top tens from the standard edition. So far, nobody has done this. Sheesh!

Hahaha, I feel like a dummy now. I'll make another stab at it later.

OK, a follow-up with my Top Ten from the standard edition in a nice playlist order:

1. Slow Train (Nov. 16, 1979)
2. I Believe in You (May 16, 1980)
3. When You Gonna Wake Up? (July 9, 1981)
4. Ain’t Gonna Go to Hell for Anybody (Unreleased song – Apr. 24, 1980)
5. Solid Rock (Nov. 27, 1979)
6. In the Summertime (Oct. 21, 1981)
7. The Groom’s Still Waiting at the Altar (Nov. 13, 1980)
8. Caribbean Wind (Nov. 12, 1980)
9. In the Garden (Jan. 27, 1980)
10. Blessed Is the Name (Unreleased song – Nov. 20, 1979)

It's still kind of rough, because I don't like excluding (either version of) "Gotta Serve Somebody," "Ain't No Man Righteous" or what are to my ears the best versions of "Man Gave Names To All The Animals" and "Gonna Change My Way Of Thinking" I've heard. I do love "Shot of Love" from Avignon, but this was the one case where I thought the bootleg sound actually outshone the official release. And "What Can I Do For You" is always welcome, though the harmonica solo on this performance is a little more shrill than I prefer.

"I Believe In You" is a bit of a surprising inclusion, since I'm not usually a big fan of the song (at least prior to its Never-Ending Tour appearances), but the version here is incredible; Dylan doesn't push at it quite as hard as he usually does, and the performance benefits from a greater level of nuance. Similarly, the "In The Garden" they picked for this set is the best I've heard from the era - with a few exceptions, Sony/Columbia was really great at selecting tracks for this release.

All in all it´s a really wonderful Collection of Songs.
I´m really, really happy with the BS 13.

It´s not easy to pick a special list of songs...

I will not even try :)

But one song is very impressive, of course the singing and the
loveliest guitar solo for such a song!

That guitar comes so unexpectedly!

I would also like to mention the fine work on the drums.

I´m talking about "In The Summertime"

I can not get enough of it.

Listen to the lyrics in combination with this fantastic sound!

Not counting the Toronto, London and San Diego shows, I've made a really good chronological 2 CD best of. There are a few casualties (Ain't No Man Righteous, Jesus Is The One, some of the Shot of Love material), but not many. The idea was to use each song only once. It's my own personal choice, obviously; but I'm very happy with it.

Do Right To Me Baby (Do Unto Others) (Soundcheck)
Trouble In Mind (Take 1)
Ye Shall Be Changed (Outtake)
When He Returns (Take 2)
Saving Grace (Live Nov. 6, 1979)
Pressing On (Live Nov. 6, 1979)
Gotta Serve Somebody (Live Nov. 15, 1979)
Precious Angel (Live Nov. 16, 1979)
Slow Train (Live Nov. 16, 1979)
Blessed Is The Name (Live Nov. 20, 1979)
Solid Rock (Live Nov. 27, 1979)
What Can I Do For You? (Live Nov. 27, 1979)
Saved (Live Jan. 12, 1980)
Man Gave Names To All The Animals (Live Jan. 16, 1980)
In The Garden (Live Jan. 27, 1980)

Gonna Change My Way Of Thinking (Live Jan. 31, 1980)
Covenant Woman (Take 3)
Ain't Gonna Go To Hell For Anybody (Live Apr. 24, 1980)
Are You Ready? (Live Apr. 30, 1980)
Cover Down, Pray Through (Live May 1, 1980)
I Believe In You (Live May 16, 1980)
Caribbean Wind (Rehearsal with pedal steel)
Making A Liar Out Of Me (Rehearsal)
Yonder Comes Sin (Rehearsal)
Rise Again (Rehearsal)
The Groom's Still Waiting At The Altar (Live Nov. 13, 1980)
City Of Gold (Live Nov. 22, 1980)
When You Gonna Wake Up? (Live July 9, 1981)
Shot Of Love (Live July 25, 1981)
Thief On The Cross (Live Nov. 10, 1981)
Every Grain Of Sand (Live Nov. 21, 1981)
