Hi All --

in light of Bob's new released Bootleg Series 13 -----

Scott Marshall has listed several songs in his book about Bob;s Gospel covers done through the years after the 1979 to 1981 Gospel tours.

Alot of these songs were either Lyrics changed or different arrangements of songs Bob has covered in the studio or done live.

Here are the songs listed I have found in the book.....

1. When you going to wake up - 1984 tour
2.You changed my life July 11,91
3.Stone walls and Steel bars - May27/97
4.Rock of ages.
5.my Blue eyed Jane
6. Your too late
7. Let your light shine on me - 2013
8.Twelve gates to the city
9. Pass me not gentle savior
10. Hallelujah - Im ready to go
11. Somebody touch me
12. I am a man Thomas
13. This world cant stand long
14. A voice on high
15. Saving Grace 2005 tour
16. Rise again - Dallas Holm cover
17. Thank God - Hank Williams from 1986 ?????

I know I am missing some and I am sure there are covers done not listed too.

Any one interested in putting this together

Greg

I have not read the book yet, but does Marshall really imply "You Changed My Life" was played on July 11, 1991? It was not.

"Thank God" was recorded with Tom Petty & The HB for the "Chabad" charity TV show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwETXLUWqP8

I guess we should mention that he did When the Ship Comes In at Live Aid in July 1985 too.

I´ve red it. I might be slight exagurating, but I think there are maybe more than fifty songs mentioned and "In the garden" is mentioned most times.
At first I thought it was very interesting and fun to read. In the end I got a little bored-The same discussion over and over; does RAZ still believe in Judaism or is he a Christian, did he really convert, does he believe in religion.
Bob give some good answers i interviews. And there are som good storys about other artist, musicians and music buissines people.

I had the same reaction. Was very interested in it until about halfway through, when it became extremely repetitive. Really became a chore over the last 100 pages.

Books aren't always written to entertain. Some are written to advance a thesis. This often involves necessary repetition. I thought Marshall was quite successful in terms of this purpose of his book.
