Just got home from Saturday night’s concert in Denver.
He closed the show with Tom Petty’s “Learning to Fly”! It was amazing!

Thank you very much Mister Dylan and the Band.

This should calm down some bad tongues.

Repost it there, just for the pleasure

Musically speaking, the best performance ever of the present band.
Receli and Garnier seem to know how to play Rock, here.
Weird.
The most decent sound I've heard in the last 30 years.
(since the Tom Petty tour, actually and not casually, apparently)

Is there still hope?

That is lovely, so sensitive, I guess Tom was present.

Wow, what a wonderful surprise to wake up to today! I was expecting it to be a mellow stripped back arrangement like the one Petty often played in concert, and was quite taken aback by the fact that they played the original arrangement in the same key as the album version. Bob is really going for it, pouring everything into those choruses, lovely to see. A wonderful and emotional tribute to his old friend.

A nice tribute to the gone friend, who helped Bob back on his feet again, when he was down and out!
A real surprise and a fine gesture!

The upside of Bob’s focus on the Standards over this latest period is he & his band sound just GREAT.
Nice of him to honor Tom in such a way.
They nailed it.

Thanks to the person who risked taking & sharing the vid too!

I was there, told my girlfriend it was over after Ballad. But whoops, they didn't move, then tore into Learning to Fly. The crowd was ecstatic. Sustained standing O then the band stood at the back of the stage and watched the ovation. Rock numbers were great...shades of the old days. New standards were very short, seemed like interludes. I've probably seen 50 shows...this was one of the best in years.

Confusing Learning with Expecting or vice versa.

Welcome to ER Marvin!
Great first post and glad you caught this show.
I respectfully dropped your quote into the Broomfield show over in the Tour forum at this link:
