Would anyone know if the gospel songs before Bob came on 1979/80 tour different through the gospel period ?

regina McCreary Havis: Monologue
Havis-Springs-Young:
If I’ve Got My Ticket, Lord (McCoy/Dennis)
It’s Gonna Rain (C Johnson)
Do Lord, Remember Me (trad)
Look Up And Live By Faith (?)
Oh Freedom (?)
This Train Is Bound For Glory (This Train) (Big Bill Broonzy)

Also Sony should have released this officially with the new Bootleg set .
I know that everyone doesnt want to hear Bob "preachin" but the intro songs were integral part of Bobs concert.
ie like not hearing a choir before a preacher starts his sermon

any thoughts ??
Greg

Were they different than what appeared on the album? Or post 79/80 like 81? Bob spent a lot of time with rehearsal and preparation in San Francisco before he hit the road in 79. I'm not sure if any songs were performed prior to this.

I prefer I Believe In You from SnL more than the official version. Songs like What Can I Do For You sounded better live, along with Pressing On. He sang those Loufull of conviction and sometimes with harmonica, along with backing soul sisters that he was fornicting with. I prefer the live feel of his backup singers than what was heard on the album.

But. I don't know if this answers your question as I don't fully understand it.

Definitely not. The sermons should have stayed in, but the awful warm-up stuff by Regina and co. is best forgotten.
