To be fair I think Bob brings it to your house for that.

the exclusion of those sermons might be "understandable". Maybe Bob even feels embarassed by the things he preached almost 40 years ago. I still think it's the wrong decision. It's like trying to appear less "controversial", in a way it's like streamlining a product.
Besides, in the end it doesn't work anyway. How many versions of Slow Train are we going to get with that release? And there are some very controversial lines in that song (controversial by today's standards). And most of the other songs are not about peace and harmony either.

I'm sure he feels embarrassed, he's quite a sophisticated thinker. If only just the part about the Hal Lindsey
type of political "Armageddon Now" prophecy that Dylan bought into. But that aside, I don't think it's either
unusual or questionable that they are removing the raps. Dylan chatted a lot in the Rolling Thunder tour.
Not much of that was included on Bootleg 1975.
I'd say likely an introduction and a a band-intro here and there will be included on Trouble No More.

Wait, where's Santa Monica 1979? Surely that's should be the bulk of the selection...

So for UK fans, where are we with this latest donation to Sony's bank balance?

Amazon.co.uk - not yet listed, other than £48 for digital version. Excuse me while I cry.
HMV.co.uk - £149.99. No San Diego bonus. Free shipping to UK.
Badlands.co.uk - £134.99. Also no San Diego bonus. Free shipping to UK.
Bob Dylan.com £149.99 plus £11 postage to the UK, includes the San Diego show.

What else is out there?

Personally I'm leaning strongly towards waiting this one out.

As mentioned before on here, ImportCDs has it for $114:
http://www.importcds.com/

And I've heard there's a way to pick up the 1979 San Diego show...
(but you'll have to find out how for yourself)

Sermons?

I remember an interview with Dylan from somewhere in the first half of the nineties where among other things he said 'I can't say I haven't played my part of being the fool' and that 'Little Richards didn't need drugs'.

The mind might boggle, but Coco has had a lengthy career as designer, art director and illustrator. See http://www.allmusic.com/artist/coco-shi ... 0001641339

Outside of the albums you name, Coco also did the Theme Time Radio Hour logo and is married to long-time Dylan friend and collaborator, Eddie Gorodetksky.

So she has had a lengthy career. So what? The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Her work sucks.

Can anyone tell me if the price of £149.99 pounds sterling from the Sony site including the bonus disc ships from the UK, or from the US?

When I ordered the big blue Cutting Edge it was in $ and of course I had to pay duty and VAT etc which i fully expected, but this being in £ infers a UK shipment and not an import?

Thanks

Chris

When you are on the product page, check the url/web address. If it says "eu" somewhere in the address, you are on the UK site and consequently the shipment should be made from the UK.

Thanks, it does say -uk- so assume that it will ship from UK.

131,99 Euros: https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/poprock/detail ... um/7798190 (costs of shipping to destinations within Germany included)
amazon.de still: EUR 187,98, but how long? no one will pay this for the same box set

Does anyone know: If I order the deluxe from bobdylan.com, will the dvd be region 1?

That's a bloody good question. I never thought about it when I ordered it. I can only hope that as they ship word wide, it will be region free. If not I will just have to use software to make a region free copy myself.
Does anyone know? The price on bd.com is tempting, but not with the hassle of cracking region coding...
As far as I'm aware, when it comes to releasing DVDs that contain music content or are available with a music-based elements (i.e. in a CD box set), companies don't really bother with region encoding any more. My bet is that the DVD will be NTSC with Region 0 - basically region free.

All of the DVDs I have bought recently as part of CD boxsets have been NTSC region free - in particular, Columbia/Sony's Miles Davis Bootleg Series releases. So no reason they should release a region encoded disc for this one.

Hmm, I pre-ordered from BD.com the other day, and the total came to £141.18 which included shipping to the UK. Still pricey, but less than the 149.99 plus £11 shipping you mentioned.

That's interesting. Did you order from the UK shop on BD.com?
I just went into it again and it's still £149.99 plus £11.00

These things seem to change every day.

Edit - I thought, to hell with it and put in my cart, added delivery details etc.
Then I thought, no. I'm not paying £160 for a bunch of cds and a dvd.

Sorry Bob.

If you know a subscriber of the German R ST, you'll pay EUR 121,43 to JPC - best price till now, if I didn't overlook something.
But that's still a lot of money (and I think SanDiego isn't part of the deal, but I don't know)
I think, it's still too much, it's not a fair price -at least for me, who is less impressed by the gospel-shows than others here. A fair price would be less than 100 Eur. But perhaps it's too much to hope for a fair price. Obviously Sony and Bob can ask successfully for an extortionate price.

(btw: the above mentioned 160 Pounds for box and shipping are more than 180 Eur,
next conversion - after looking at the following post: 190 USD / 140 Pounds are more than 160 Eur)

I don't know, I just went to Bob Dylan.com and followed the links. Perhaps it's because I paid in dollars and am converting.

Here's what I got charged and sent in my confirmation:

Subtotal - $174.98 USD
Shipping - $15.71 USD

Total -$190.69 USD

which equates to £141.

different regions have different prices, both for ALL ELEVEN DISCS (INCL. SAN DIEGO), and the shipping
here in Ireland the only option to get all of these is to pay
€169.99 EUR plus Shipping €28.00 EUR
Total €197.99 EUR
