Yeah, I was hoping for more studio stuff too, but I'm still excited. And the cover looks like it was done by whoever did Tempest (Bob???)

Hmmm. I was planning on getting the 2CD set but if it's only live material now I'm not sure.

As of right now there's nothing on his website about the release.
8 CDs for 50 quid is cheap at the price.
I was in two minds as to whether i'd get this one, but at that price,
and given the studio tracks, i'll need to buy this.

I'm surprised by the exclusion of a lot of the stuff that was recorded during the Shot of Love sessions: "Is It Worth It?", "Wind Blowin' on the Water", "Magic", etc.

A lot of it is rough jam sessions but it'd be great to have.

And only one "Caribbean Wind"? :(

This seems to be the US Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075R1VTW9/re ... 2C+Vol.+13

It's mostly blank, but it does say it is 9 discs, rather than 8

The links available are not the CDs, only digital music. That's why it's cheap.

I thought that price was too good to be true.
So it'll be around 150/200 i'm guessing.
Maybe more.

Is there a DVD or not?

I cannot accept mixed messages, they create trouble in mind.

Sounds like 8 CD's and one DVD. Can anyone confirm.

Songs that have never had an official release before?

Let's Begin
Cover Down (Pray Through)
Rise Again
Making A Liar Out Of Me
Jesus Is The One
Ain’t Gonna Go To Hell For Anybody
(I can't believe this has never had an official release!)

Is that right?

Don't stand for it Huck demand answers.
Mixed up messages are unacceptable and scandalous.

To be serious, i actually didn't see anything specifically noted
as a DVD but there's a documentary coming out isn't there,
perhaps Bob gave the footage to be used exclusively for that project?

PS Jupiter yep those songs haven't ever been released before.
All the title's i saw were always listed as 'Cover Down (Break Through)
turns out we've been getting that wrong all these years

Looks fantastic! Most of the best material is live anyway and its nice to see Sony properly curating again. The two full concerts a lovely bonus. I mean frankly I'd pay 50 bucks just to hear the two Caribbean Winds.

On the other hand that is some god awful artwork.

Let's not roast the artwork, it looks good and different from all the other bls. Trouble No More is a cool name, it's in a cool font, the pose Bob is doing is funny in a way that makes it cool. The whole thing is very slick looking.

Can't wait to see the promo video tomorrow. There's got to be one right?

I've got mixed feelings about this.
I will buy the most expensive version of it though, I always do.

But it's too much live stuff, and I already have almost every show from '79-'81.
Bob's voice was excellent during these years, the band was good.
There are some great songs from this era,
but it's mostly just songs about fairytales and unicorns, so it doesn't suit me at all.
Primarily I'll buy this just to have it in my collection and for the unreleased studio tracks.

Bring on the new album instead!

Looks like a cool set! Pretty keen to learn what the DVD (or hopefully Blu-ray) content is. Would've like to have a some more studio outtakes - but great that this live stuff is getting an official release.

I'm very much hoping the live 'Caribbean Wind' is a good quality recording. The boot I've heard of that is pretty rough. Weird that the widely circulating studio outtake (an excellent version as far as I'm concerned) of CW isn't on here, but that pedal steel rehearsal take is promising.

I'm in SirDogg's camp. Too much live, not enough studio outtakes.

I can't afford to buy lavish sets 'just to have it in my collection', but I do agree that his voice and the band were excellent during that period so I may well buy the 2CD live set. Lucinda William's reworking of Sweet Old World takes priority though and I couldn't agree more with your closing statement:

Bring on the new album instead, indeed!

The covers coming under fire so quickly.
Dylan's arms are outstretched, it's very Jesus on the cross like isn't it.
I don't mind that cover, he looks cool there.
It's from 1981 i think ???
Perhaps one of the 1979 leather jacket white shirt shots might have
looked better, perhaps not.
I'm ok with it though seems perfectly fine.

I'm more or less ok with the picture, but the font for Trouble No More is terrible. Childlike.

Looks amazing. Look at all those gigs they (presumably) have complete sbds for, and only £50!
