Gone from Amazon.uk too. Amazon.de still showing it for 35. Euro or so. Most strange, a book that has sold out before it was ever published!

amazon.de had a 96,95 € version with a 2014 publication date last time I checked (yesterday). It's a limited edition so it's not quite so strange it's sold out. My guess is there will be a somewhat cheaper, 'unlimited' version sometime next year.

Edit: They still use the other title:

YES! It is Bob from Twin Peaks on a pumpkin!

I'm looking forward to the the show's return (and perhaps a Bob stand-in) almost as much as I'm looking forward to the other "Bob"-related stuff (Lyrics, Basement Tapes, Shadows).

But I guess that's for the "Off Topic" Discussion room.

Amazon has shipped my copy, due for delivery on Tuesday.

I am immensely excited.

On Amazon Japan, the hardcover is 22,314 yen (available November 6, 2014), or 5,483 (October 1, 2015). I was upset briefly that I missed the US $120 on Amazon (US), but I've pre-ordered the cheaper 2015 book and will wait a year to save the roughly $175. With all the various editions emerging, I can't imagine that the current one (Nov. 2014) will be much of an investment. Am I right?

I don't know if I will get it, although my order has been accepted, but W.H Smith have the book at £81 on their web site. :D #

I just order it through WH Smith's too. £81.25 including shipping.

I don't actually want the book, so if anyone else wants it and can't get it, let me know (assuming it arrives, of course).

Yes, I've just ordered it from there too. I'll leave my £30 order in with Amazon.de for now, though I assume it's for the 20015 release. It's all been a bit of a snafu to be honest.
It's supposed to be a flagship publication & the prices, dates, titles & editions are all over the place.

Whatever edition, whatever price - I won't spend my money before I have seen at least some sample pages of the book (printing style, what kind of annotations, which songs are included/excluded etc.)

Well... apparently amazon is now "preparing my order for shipment" for
"Expected delivery: Monday, November 3, 2014 - Friday, November 7, 2014 by 8pm"

How about other U.S. amazon customers? I placed my order on October 9, and I do NOT have amazon prime (maybe that's it).

*Of the book. Not of people on the toilet reading the book. To be honest, you're a pervert for even thinking that.

Hello everyone.

I received my copy of the book today. A couple notes to you all about information that I would be interested in:

1) The book is truly massive...it actually seems on the verge of collapsing from its own weight. The reproduction of the album covers seems high quality. However, it is disappointing that if liner notes were originally included with the LPs as inserts, they are not included (so, only some of the poems from "Another Side" --those published on the back of the LP cover -- are included and the liner notes to Planet Waves are not included). This is in contrast to 1985's Lyrics, which published the liner notes in full.

2) The quality of editing appears to be top notch, and, as a college teacher of English literature myself, it uses an approach and nomenclature that is both familiar and thorough. Ricks was a good choice.

3) Along the lines of #2 above, the introduction by Ricks seems to mostly deal with the issue of the lyrics published divorced from the music. However, Ricks deals with the issue intelligently, drawing from some quotes from Dylan to propel the discussion. The introduction and the entire tome is superb quality and does clearly appear to be a pitch for the Nobel laureate.

4) Unfortunately, the new lyrics from Lost on the River and The Basement Tapes Complete are not included. I was interested in this and I am a bit disappointed that they are not included.

5) Finally, the litmus test for me was the first two lines of "Cry Awhile." The lyrics are published as Dylan actually sings it (the brilliant "didn't wanna have to wanna deal with"), with a footnote for how the lyrics were originally published and how it is sung ("didn't wanna have to deal with"). I am very impressed that Ricks was thorough enough to get this detail.

So, I am very pleased with it and look forward to pouring over it in the upcoming months.

The suckah mighta weighed, like 15.5 pounds otherwise.
And it leaves room for the Complete Complete version later...

Does the book include any images of Bob's original handwritten lyrics? I'm specifically looking for an image of the Tangled Up in Blue lyrics.

I know at least one of the previous editions had a photo of a portion of the TUIB lyrics, but I was hoping for a photo of the full lyric sheet.

The litmus test for me was to see if the ridiculous "panties on the board" was corrected to "panties overboard." It was.
