Who knows, but the more telling sentence is this - "Christopher Ricks, editor of T. S. Eliot, Samuel Beckett, Tennyson, and The Oxford Book of English Verse"

Ricks is portrayed as a chronicler of some of the greatest literary figures in history, so for those who claim Bob Dylan has no interest in being hailed as a literary genius, you are completely and quite obviously WAY off track and dead wrong. Those words are from his own website! Kindly wake the F up.

Give the genius a cigarette.

I'd love to have it, but a 100+ bucks is extremely pricey.

But then again, why should we let the FACTS get in the way of our own hangups?

Since when does promotional hype equal facts? :?

You may feel that a renowned literary critic being the lead promotional person on Bob Dylan's own site is not a fact, and I support your right to any and all fantasies - but fantasies they most certainly are.

You could see it as an investment, the price will only rise & rise in years to come (if it remains a 'Limited Edition')

The way there are lower price editions available for pre-order, with publication dates sometime next year, there will probably / likely be an unlimited edition as well...

Especially for lyrics I already mostly know.

I reckon there will be a cheaper mass market edition later on. I hope it'll be made more available, anyway.

It's definitely a VERY collectible book that will increase in value over time - the only big question, how much? A solid investment for sure, and a totally enjoyable one - win win. Double whammy.

I've seen first edition Mark Twain books go for $50,000, and they're probably worth more now. Look what Bob's handwritten lyrics went for recently. I think they set a record for song lyrics.

Yes, but will any of us purchase it simply because it might net us a couple hundred bucks somewhere down the line? I have a few odd, collectible items lying around that I am sure are worth more than I paid for them, but I am not in any hurry to sell them on ebay and replace them with something similar yet inferior.

Maybe my great-great-great grandkids will be on Antiques Roadshow 2112 CE and find that they have something valuable on their hands (but I would hope that whatever Dylan-appreciation genes I send on to them will still be present enough that they will decide to hang onto it). :)

This is something I'd really like own, but falls in the category of being to expensive to be justifiable. All Bob's lyrics are available online, not least at the brilliant dylanchords, and the 1962-2001 lyrics collection can be picked up pretty cheaply online. Maybe I'll purchase it second hand a few years down the line.

Well, that comes across as a little patronizing.

I guess, but he's just not the first person I'd think of as a literary expert. I may be wrong, of course, but to me it just looks like a handy quote.

Ain't no lyre nor laurel on Shakespeare's First Folio, and it didn't come with no slipcase neither.

According to ISIS, it is already sold out in the UK. I ordered my copy directly from them and I'm much looking forward to it. Looks like it's going to be a really handsome book.
