Anyway, the picture is exquisite!

The show, called Mood Swings, opens at the Halycon Gallery in New Bond Street, London, in November and will also include paintings and signed limited-edition works for sale

What is that?

What it say there... a museum exhibition. We'll go and see it, because we'll be there. Which is very good. :D :D :D

What with the portrait exhibition and now this, I really need to get down to London. Now if only I had a RAH ticket...

Come down and we'll find you some tickets.

There is even a reference to the artist as musician with the use of musical notes, a treble clef and a guitar among the objects included in the iron works.

This will be legendary! I posted these quotes from Dylan before in the Is Bob Happy? thread :

But I could be happy being a blacksmith.

You know, I could be happy pounding metal all day, going home to a big fat wife, and eating a meal and, y'know, going to bed. That would be my ideal of happiness.

:!: :!: :!: This is the most exciting exhibit yet!! Sounds as if It's like his music, experienced in another form, all complicated and interesting, with unexpected twists and turns. Love metal work- So looking forward to seeing what he hath wrought!- And he even gave a hint to their appearances, when he sang with that drawn out, cool "Haleluuuuuuujua", Twelve Gates To the City. :D :D Wow, Bob! :D

I love the quote: "Gates appeal to me because of the negative space they allow. They can be closed but at the same time they allow the seasons and breezes to enter and flow. They can shut you out or shut you in. And in some ways there is no difference."

I would love to see this show!

I say it's time one of his exhibitions comes to the U.S.

This looks like being Dylan's funniest exhibition to date, for sure.

The whole 'art' thing is a gag, of course, but as we're in on the joke we enjoy it, just like we enjoy the notion of a 'deluxe' edition of outtakes from what was - deliberately - his worst album.

This is hilarious: "Gates appeal to me because of the negative space they allow. They can be closed but at the same time they allow the seasons and breezes to enter and flow. They can shut you out or shut you in. And in some ways there is no difference." It's utter gibberish and that is the point. Dylan seems as intent on dismantling the 'Bob Dylan' thing as he was in 1969.

I rather hope there will be an off-cuts collection of Dylan's iron gates in a few years, where we will see the true splendour of the 'negative space' that might have been achieved if the people at Halcyon hadn't insisted on a 'greatest hits' selection of hammer work.

Meanwhile, will we get a metalwork solo from Bob during 'Cold Irons Bound' in the forthcoming tour? Will he construct the Gates of Eden live on stage? Maybe we'll get the first rendition of the Planet Waves classic 'Welding Song' since 1974?

He doesn't need to do a metalwork solo - he can get the same effect with his voice.

I'd love to see him pull out I Weld You on the next tour.

No, just that one photo that's in the articles - it's in the Visions thread, too.
