do you think it's credible? the thing the "source" said about BD "being fcked by Patti Smith" sounds sketchy.

It does sound bizarre. It does look like Bob's painting to me. I'm a little confused by it :P

Nope, didn't get that at all. I need some insight!

I don't think it looks like Bob's style of painting.

'Fabiola had told Bob that his motivation was “Basel.” Bob laughed and said he didn’t have that kind of money, but he could do Montreux.'

Art Basel is the biggest modern art show in the World. Coincidentally, the 2013 edition began today. I guess 'Fabiola' was hoping to exhibit there, and Bob was maybe riffing on money as talent, and being more at home in a Swiss town more famous for showcasing musical talent.

Correct.
The quote would mean that he does not have the money to buy art at the Art Basel (or pay to be exhibited? :? ), but does somehow make it into the Casino at Montreux with his means...

I think Bob and Patti totally. I think Asia series is Bob's, but that the magazine covers could absolutely be a Richard Prince thing (or not, really). This current report is a gag.

o thats right now i remember thats the fellow that supposedly did all the bob paintings as a way to do who knows what, maybe to authenticate somebody. and the animalnewyork has been on top of the story. they seem a bit discombobulated about the theories not panning out. folks sittin around the park and some painting with a green nipple that was painted by bob who can be seen behind the bushes. comedy never has been this funny before.

when i read the title of the thread i thought that richard prince and bob dylan were the naked ones.... not that stupid i guess. seems to me like kind of a dangerous activity for the young women in central park... gee don't they get harassed enough as it is, fully clothed :?:

You may be right, Beans. I studied all the photos and couldn't find Bob in the background either.

BOB DYLAN PAINTED THIS NUDE PORTRAIT IN CENTRAL PARK YESTERDAY WITH RICHARD PRINCE
By Marina Galperina | June 13, 2013 - 01:00PM

Artist and copyright subverter Richard Prince is a big fan of David Bowman’s futuristic, “hard-boiled comedy“ Bunny Modern. He tweets about it a lot. He’s also a fan of deleting his tweets. Good thing we’re all over it. Recently, Prince has been teasing his followers about being up to “something” in Central Park. Yesterday, he was up to this: Hanging out with the girls from Topless Pulp, reading Bunny Modern topless. (See NSFW gallery ↑‎) We reached out for clarification — “What the hell are we looking at?” — and were provided with the following info by, let’s say, a source:

Tits, I think. And emended first editions, and paperbacks of Bowman’s BUNNY MODERN. Bob Dylan was painting on an easel in the background. Bob has wild hair and good shades. He paints nudes with the authority you’d expect of a man who’d been x by Patti Smith. Fabiola had told Bob that his motivation was “Basel.” Bob laughed and said he didn’t have that kind of money, but he could do Montreux.

The source also sent us the aforementioned and rather tasteful nude portrait: Only a wisp of nipple is seen. Author’s note: While I would personally trust this source in a variety of delicate and dangerous situations, the Bob Dylan’s Paintings Were Painted by Richard Prince conspiracy weighs heavily upon my heart. Dylan is Prince is Dylan is Prince is Dylan and we’re on some Fight Club shit? Tread lightly, my friends.

When I read the story of Bob walking in NJ in the rain and getting picked up by the police..... it seemed true right away....

I did not get that feeling when I read this story..... just the opposite as a matter of fact.

Me too  Sitting behind an easel and exchanging jolly remarks about Basel & Montreux. So much to the likeliness of it. But what do they say: se non è vero è bem trovato!

(his pictures have a strong tendency towards muddy colours, this one does not)

If Dylan hasn't greenlit his use as star name in this jolly little hoax, you'd think he'd sue. Maybe he's more multi-tasking, elf-assisted, multi-media merry prankster than performing chameleon 'shape-shifter'- as the parlance goes- these days. Bob Dylan's Factory indeed. I'm hoping at some point he can sign up Pussy Riot to one of his projects.
