It's not that good a deal. The Euro price is just over 70. I bought mine new a year ago for 40€.

I felt ZERO guilt when I purchased the 2CD set and immediately went to Torrent the rest.

Are you out of your mind? This is late '90s and early '00s Bob... Bob at his finest! With some NET performances too!

This set is a bargain at three times this price!

I picked up the vinyl a while back for $60. Prior to that I picked up an unofficial bootleg of disc 3 on vinyl.

So, this is worthless to me.

Although I would like to hear the 3rd disc, the ridiculous price put me off from the outset. Even at this reduced price it doesn't interest me. Which is quite disappointing by Sony/Bob, as I'm sure there were many in the same boat as me that would have paid another $10-$20 max for the 3 disc package. The 2 disc release is one of my favourite albums, compilation or not.

As it is, they can get fu*$%.

Nothing wrong with the music. Some really excellent stuff. But buy the two disc version and download the third cd. The book thing is badly made and too expensive for what you get.

"Too expensive"?

arthurprecarious, this is great music from Bob friggin' Dylan we're talking about... money should be no object on this. Its worth every penny just because of that.

And besides, none of us are going to take it with us when we go. (Or if we do we won't be using it for anything.)

Good, though, that Dylan insists in remaining ahead of the field. He practically invented the bootleg record industry by not releasing some of his best recordings, and recently he gave internet downloaders a moral imperative to get Disc 3 of Tell-Tale Signs for zilch by charging an absurd price for the official version.

I mean, they must KNOW no one is paying for the music anymore. Why else would they license that box set of all his official CDs thing that doesn't actually contain any of the CDs? Dylan fans pay for the paper and cardboard now, not music.

"Duncan & Brady" is suberb. The 3rd version of "Mississippi" has some nice lyrical variations. But the long, slow version of "Can't Wait" may be the best thing on that disc...

Here's the 3rd version of Mississippi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGtFu9ah8IA

The third disc is certainly worth getting however you might do it.

I have the deluxe box and the third disc is amazing.

I found a recent website where you can legally buy the 3rd disc tracks in lossless or lossy formats.

Perhaps this is the source of that vinyl bootleg I have. What kind of lossless are we talking about? I don't have a translator installed on this browser.

Played random tracks from all 3 today, so many good songs and performances, especially; 'Can't escape from you', Duncan and Brady', Mary and the Soldier', The lonesome river, Cross the green Mountain' and 'Red River Shore'. The best BS release to date (IMO) and the 3rd disk is great. Find a way to buy it or write urgently to Santa.

Disc 3's "Things Have Changed" is a lot of fun. A great soundboard mix, too, which makes it painful that they don't release more official shows that way.

My deluxe version fell apart the first week I had it; the pages are all unglued, and the discs get easily scratched in the pockets.

I need to find a way to get this without spending $80+. I already own 2 copies each of the deluxe double set and have bought countless others as gifts...I refuse to buy the first two discs yet again just to get the third...suggestions?

They sell flac files so you can play them as is or unpack it into wav files. Both are lossless CD quality formats. Essentially, you can download these flacs, unpack them, and burn a CD and you have the 3rd disc from TTS.

I think they should be distributed as a gift for free for people when they achieve titanium status here. it's the least people deserve after such a journey. This music deserves to be heard without having to pay the inflationary costs for it.

Barefoot, I'll mail you a hard copy in exchange for some baked THC products. It's the Xmas season after all.

I'm hoping to hear the 3rd disc soon. Like others here, I couldn't justify paying 70 or 80 more dollars for one more disc. If it were a bonus 3 or 4 discs, maybe, but just 1 more no. Probably one of the stupider moves, I've seen from a record company to charge such an absurd amount for so little extra music.
