Somehow I don't believe that Bob is the kind of guy who reads or writes emails. I just checked bobdylan.com, you can contact them and see what happens. Apparently, Bob ( or at least somebody who is hired for this job) is also on facebook and you can follow him on twitter, I didn't know that :shock:
And as far as that email from his radio show is concerned...well, did it really ever work? As far as I can remember the wise folks here on ER did agree that it was made up.

Why don't you write him to him care of Sony? Whoever handles his fan mail will probably look at it.

You could try contacting his entertainment lawyer, Gary Gilbert, in L.A., but I doubt he'll respond to you.

IF Dylan wanted to be contacted by just about everybody who feels like it, wouldn't you think he'd make it easier?

I think it's much easier asking someone around here about Dylan's guitar strings that trying hopelessly to 'contact' Dylan himself. Try emailing Eyolf Ostrem who runs this site - http://dylanchords.info/. He's bound to put you in the right direction. :)

Your question is probably rhetorical, ? but a straight out answer would include taking into consideration that you'd be writing to the machine, not the man, by taking the obvious route, and by taking any obvious bait to "contact" a celebrity. But you could also become part of great online mailing lists and receive exciting ( and sometimes exclusive) special offers. :)

One time in a discussion similar to this one, , here was my exchange with another ER member:

Yes, I am writing a book. It has nothing to do with Bob Dylan, or with music, or with poetry. However, I would still like to interview Bob. Can someone tell me the best person to contact to be turned down for that?

God. :wink:
And ever since, I am always careful to be respectful, just in case Lily is God! ( btw, dear god, i am not really writing a book, though i do like to read motorcycle manuals)

Your question may just be rhetorical, but I like it that you chose a screen name similar to mine. C'est beau monde, Bella, non?

To be honest, even if you did manage to get a hold of him I doubt he would know/remember what brand of guitar strings he used.
Good luck with your search though!

Just to assure you, Lily is NOT God..... but I do talk to him occasionally.... but then I talk to lots of interesting people occasionally..... :P

I like that someone pointed out that he might not remember what guitar strings he used way back when..... it was a while ago.... but that sounds like the odd sort of thing he might actually remember..... or at least be able to make up :wink:

I'm not a player so I don't know if any of this helps, but just in case...

A ouija board. I've contacted lots of famous peeps with a ouija board, just don't get possessed or you'll need exercise.

well :oops: Lily, I didn't mean to say I thought you were The Almighty, Father God, but maybe the perceived God of Bob Decisions on Earth, or maybe the P.A. or E.S. of said One, which would be a position to whom showing respect would be very important, though! Not that such a one would reveal themselves as Such A One. :) (::kowtow::) So, whoever that person is, they would know who not to contact, for sure.

Its probably not that hard... Everytime I drive by his place in Malibu the gate is wide open. Nothing says, "Come on in!" like an open door (or gate).

thoughts on my favorite post of the past six months:

1--guitar strings? pull it together no one here is buying that;

2--if you really want to meet bob, go on the road and ask for frederica;

3--martin strings;

4--pull it together...
