Workingman's Blues is one of the outstanding songs from Modern Times, performed with extreme care by Dylan. Lyrics that verge on sentimentality but stay on the right side of pathos. You feel that the song creates its own world

Floater is a real gem. Narrated by an eccentric with an unusual understanding of Shakespeare. Took me a long time to really appreciate this song. See it now as one of the album's highlights.

Til I Fell and Jolene have some nice lines but really these are just filler.

My choice: Workingman's Blues.

Workingman's Blues...One of my all-time favorites by Dylan.

Floater. Oh god, that title.

For pure weirdness factor, the song deserves at least a cigarette before a swift shooting in the head. The other 3 are already at the bottom of the lake in a sack with bricks.

:) I love "Workingman's Blues"....
the music, the words, Bob's voice.

" There's an evenin' haze settlin' over town
Starlight by the edge of the creek..."

and

"No man, no woman knows
The hour that sorrow will come
In the dark I hear the night birds call
I can hear a lover's breath..."

- those are lovely words. 8)

Floater.
WMB#2 will probably win, though.

i was never able to get past the music to enjoy floater - very 'beyond the horizon' for me in that way...

Floater for me. The quantity of words successfully crammed into some of those lines, so they almost tumble over to the next one, amazes me.
