They'll only release it this summer if they got sth big up their sleeves for fall release.

Discounting CITH, he'll be going for his third straight US #1, to match the achievements of incendiary, mould-breaking chart-toppers MT and TTL (BIABH made #6, H61R #3, BoB #9  ). Put your 5's in your pockets, Mr Jones.

Yeah, that put things into perspective eh? Modern Times and Together Through Life getting higher chart positions that the 60s electric trilogy.

Hell and handcart scenario, evidently.

Well, I suppose it's possible that he won't remember what I look like/sound like. It was quite dark in there...

Looks like a couple of subscriptions from here to Uncut might cheer him up! He's getting one from me!

Hopefully there will be no sanction applied. In fairness, he hasn't given anything away about the album content so I don't see how any harm has been done. If anything, it's just a little bit of free publicity without giving anything substantive away.

It's only speculation, but I'm speculating that's what's going to happen. Of course, our definition of "big" isn't necessarily Mr. D's. TTL was released in late April 2009, with CiTH released in October of that year. Hopefully, we won't see CitH II (The Klezmer version).

I'd guess that they have something else planned for the Fall, something that would be more attractive to the average consumer than the latest release. JR (in anonymous source mode) said in some relatively recent interview (I believe in RS) that they were going to start focusing on DVD releases and, if I were a betting man, I'd bet a DVD is what we'll see circa October 2012 for the Christmas market.

It'll be interesting to see if Robert Hunter is co-lyricist on this one, or if Mr. D is behind the wheel again.

I'd rather have CITH 2 than TTL 2, at least regarding the co-writing.

Yeah, that was nice.
A bunch of folks had copies of L&T in early August. Was nice, as we got to listen to it in the van riding between shows that summer US tour.

Well, as it's been said before Dylan's folks are doing a great job to keep an eye of anything floating around. I had the pleasure of attending pre-listening sessions for both "TOOM" and "L&T" and back then the label had ONE CD-R of the album (it's usually not until a few weeks before release that regular CDs and esp. Vinyl are manufactured), but in this day and age I wouldn't be too surprised if the album was played off the laptop of Dylan's associate present at the listening session. That's how they usually do it at listening sessions these days.

Like right now is not too soon!!!!!

by the way, if you let me listen to the new album I am sure I would give it five stars too!!!

No, they are going to have the new album out in September which would be good for the Christmas market still. Bob needs an album to make an impact and you can't achieve that by putting it out in the summer or have it followed closely by another release.

"TTL" is the only Bob album of slef-penned material that wasn't released in September in the last 20+ years. And "TTL" only was released in May because they had another album of new material on the way.

A DVD with archive footage would be nice, but it won't match the impact of an all new album, regardless how good or bad that might be.

So Karl Erik has deemed my post worthy of a link on the main ER page?

Wow, that certainly is an honor and definitely unexpected!

Just checked out these links jclibby - what amazing red herrings those turned out to be!

If I was Mr Jones I would have probably removed those posts from my archives but fair play to him for keeping them there I suppose - unless of course he just forgot about them.
