So... which character would you dress up as? I've been thinking about this and I'd probably go as Dr. Filth, with a leather cup and all. And how awesome would it be to attend a party like that!

I'd have to be a jelly-faced woman. I'd be the one with the mustache who can't find her knees. That would be a challenging costume, not only to make it, but to keep the flies away in the summer.

Ive always thought Einstein disguised as Robin Hood would be a good idea for a costume party/halloween

I would go as Stack-A-Lee. Or maybe Jesus.

It's a great idea--I'd love to go to one of these.

Had just such a party for my 50th with 50 guests all supposed to come as a character from a Dylan song. Winner of the dress prize (an anthology of Keats poems) was a woman in a black body stocking painted with yellow and scarlet flames -- I met a young woman whose body was burning, while I was dressed in a habit and bald wig. (The leading actor hurried by in the costume of a monk.)

I'd go as that bloke who walks down those roads.

I was at one such party many years ago. It was a good bit of fun. My favourite was the guy dressed as a Welsh Postman. When asked what the Dylan connection was he answered that he was Knockin' On Evans door .That cracked me up. I went as The Jack Of Hearts. My girlfriend and a friend of hers went as Lilly and Rosemary and they spent the night swapping wigs.

I don't recall where I read it, but apparently someone once dressed up in a giant cell phone, so he was Stuck Inside Of Mobile....

Me, I'd go as.... Johanna? Or as Invisible Now, which might actually be the same.

One of my favorite stories relating to Dylan. I like that guy that has 20 pounds of headlines stapled to his chest.

At the risk of sounding like a grump I think it's rather dumb, I think I would feel ridiculous. Of course I'm not a fan of the costume party idea anyhoo. But I'll wish ya'll a good time anyway.

I'd go as a railroad man, drink up people's blood like wine, smoke their eyelids and punch their cigarettes

i sign up for these events ALL the time. each time i pick the same costume. I'm not there

i would put a white sheet with holes cut out for my eyes over me and be Angel who left looking just like a ghost.

This was the theme of my 21st birthday party years ago.

We has some good ones, Cinderella with a broom who kept putting her hands in her back pockets (Bette David style), a diplomat with a siamese cat on his shoulder, someone with dark sunglasses and a black tooth and someone who was the property of Jesus.

I can't remember all the others.

If I were lazy about the whole thing, I'd just put on a long black coat.

Or I'd bring a cane, and throw it at people.

I think it'd be easy to pull off seeing as how I'm a guy.
