I wonder if anyone cares to enlighten and uplift the discussion regarding rumors by contrasting and comparing Official and Proper rumors. Please use Official and Proper examples regarding the upcoming tour and album release to illustrate your points.

What the hell is going on?... why is everyone talking about Rumours?... surely we should be talking about the impending new album release from Dylan and not wasting time yapping on and on about an old Fleetwood Mac album!

I personally prefer "authentic" rumors, and tend to discard the rest. Just as I prefer a true lie.

All three of you are totally discredited due to your unwillingness to back up your statements with examples of Proper and / or Official Rumors.

I would like to lay the following rumour upon the cold table for all the peering, questioning eyes to see,

"A friend of mine works in a CD pressing plant for Sony and they are currently receiving delivery of over 200 pallets of empty gatefold CD album sleeves for Dylan's new album... my friend has looked at the album artwork and has emailed me to say that it will be a triple album entitled Bitter Embers... hell, a triple CD album... I can't wait."

I propose that this rumour is both official and proper. I hear the gasps — even so, I will go on. No I won't, I have had a change of mind, mid-post — I will leave the proposal door wide open, moving slightly from the surrounding sharp intakes of breath, like the door to any good rumour-mill, and I wait with open arms to see a flicker in any of those peering eyes, in reaction to this proposal.

Jeez, I don't get why you are all bashing jman in this thread. I agree with him, there is difference between rumor & ad hoc made up stuff. And it won't be triple album. I have strong feeling that nothing will be heard about it for few days.

Here's what I have gathered.

Official:
David Hildago is working on it.
It includes a tres guitar and an accordion.
It has a Mexican sound to it.
The recording sessions has been finished.

Rumored or "not authentic" :
Recorded with tour members over a span of two months.
The producer might not be Jack Frost
Mark Knopfler may be on it.
It will probably have a release late this year.

That's only what I've heard. And it's through ISIS magazine which I subscribe.
