I've been perusing this forum, just to make sure that this book hasn't been mentioned before (usually I respectfully try to tag onto a thread that's relevant, out of respect to the Moderators and for space).

Anyway, if you haven't heard of it, it's really pretty darn good. Published by Knopf in 1998.

The whole novel is a thinly-veiled account of Dylan's life (through a character named Luke Fairchild),
as seen through the narrator's eyes -- a fellow who is Fairchild's illegitimate son through the Suze-Rotolo character in the book. The story is replete with made-up song lyrics, that are quite Bob-esque, and it's funny seeing the Dylan career put through a fictional prism -- e.g. The Rolling Thunder Revue is transmuted into the Tail of the Tiger Tour (I believe that's what the writer calls it), the 'Christian' phase, etc. There's even an inverted quasi-Isle-of-Wight concert moment.

Scott Spencer has done his homework, and it's clear he's a massive Dylan fan.
I think A LOT of Dylan fans would enjoy this fictional take. Check it out.

Get a cheap, used edition via Amazon's Marketplace sellers.
Or inter-library loan.
It's worth it!

I don't get my Bob books from the library.... I'm a bit of a collector.
