I'd love to hear another solo acoustic record. Either that or in the same style as L&T.

I think he should do a harmonica solo album. Just him and his harp.

I believe it will actually be an album of key board solos.

Given that Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits have already come out with solidly good albums in the last few months, and that Springsteen is going to come out with (judging by the lead single) a solidly mediocre album, I hope that Dylan's competitive juices are sparked to craft a great album. Just go dark ballads. None of this "feeling change coming on" junk. Dark ballads. That's where 'Modern Times' was at its best. TTL didn't contain anything close to the best cuts of MT. Have you listened to "Workingman's Blues #2" or "Ain't Talkin'" recently? Dear God, those are superb songs.

I've been listening to the way Bob sings/talks some of his songs during the latest tour ... so why not literally talk his way thru a well chosen bunch of his 'songs' ... I'd buy it.

Remembered this 3 page thread for the beginning hints. Maybe there is gold hidden in it  ...

i've seen 15 original studio albums appear since being a fan,
and always there's that sense of promise, of the possibility of
eternal music in my hands and ears. and expectingrain does,
i must say, considerably enhance the preliminaries

It will be a talkin Bob blues and folk album with a tinge of gospel, some back-up singers and a modicum of Tex - Mex.

I prefer TTL above MT. TTL has some free spirit to it, while MT sounds very tight (in a way that it makes it rushed). "Workingman's Blues #2" apart from nice arrangement is mediocre song with cliche lyrics - it doesn't make it bad song at all, but "Life Is Hard" is not lagging behind to quote the song.

"Ain't Talkin'" is indeed great song, I can't argue with that (though I prefer alternate version from bootleg series, with that post-disco :) descending bass line).

I'm wondering what Bob has planned, since there's so few concerts announced.
The whole tour should have been announced by now imo.

There's only one or two dates missing now, and I think it's a matter of shifting tickets for Benicassim and Cap Roig before they announce another one in Spain.

When's the next album gonna come out then?

July 14 to coincide with the 26th Anniversary of the release of Knocked Out Loaded. The Deluxe package (targeting audiophiles) is rumored to include the Mono AND Half-Speed Master releases of Knocked Out Loaded!!!

It's about time!

Sadly it wasn't released after all. I was torn up and out of commission for a few days but it isn't the first time Dylan dissappointed me and it probably won't be the last.
