The met offices in the UK and Ireland have named the next storm to hit these Isles Storm Dylan.

I don't know if they were thinking of Bob Dylan when the name was given, but chances are someone in those offices was thinking of him.

They've been saying for weeks now 'Storm Dylan is coming', then nothing. Predictions are that Storm Dylan will finally hit Northwestern Ireland Sat/Sun night with gusts of up to 100km/hour. While I am enjoying the name of this storm, I hope that nobody is harmed when Dylan finally blows in and I hope he doesn't turn into a Hurricane

So far so good, here in the North West of England.

Cold and some rain, but no sign of Dylan.

We had a hail shower/storm in Bristol this morning. Does that count as hard rain?

Hopefully there won't be high water everywhere, but if it keeps on raining, the levee's gonna break!

And it sounds like they've given plenty of warning, so if you go down in the flood it'll be your fault!

I hope the hard rain will change to just a gentle drizzle.

Well Storm Dylan is not here yet, but it is getting windy. This afternoon I need to go around the garden picking up all the debris that might blow in the wind and smash up the greenhouse. Tomorrow morning I will have to go around emptying all the Buckets of rain. I don't like emptying buckets of rain. Cold and splashy. I should throw those buckets out, but I can't bear to throw out a good bucket. Hoping some day there might be a bucket of moonbeams.

The met office here has just announced that Storm Dylan will be small, fast and pack quite a punch......sounds familiar? (Well maybe not the small bit)

There’s a joke about it being downgraded to ‘Summer Wind’ and Frank Sinatra standards in there somewhere, but I gave up looking for it.
