This might be a little off, but I would love to see a biography by Sara Lownds- I dont mean tabloid type things, but just what the BOTT days were like and so on. To me it would seem like a really different perspective than what we (or at least I) had ever heard. Also a true biography from Bob would be great (I thought Chronicles I was great although too veiled). And I am sure there are outakes out there that I can't even dream of.

Sara has never talked and I don't think she ever will. It must be one of the divorce agreements that she can't disclose anything. One can only speculate if she would even want to - she's never sought the limelight. The last time we've even seen a picture of her was in 1983.

I want Sara to detail how long she was kept in the closet when Bob ushered in those reporters,
and what was going through her mind then.

I'd say it's more likely to just be basic respect for the father of her children. Is it even possible to draft non-disclosure contracts that last a lifetime?

could be. I mean rumors have it that they still spend time together and she goes to concerts. That would be intersting to hear about the relationship now if anything. But yes, it does seem they do have a great respect for each other and still care. Far as the other wife.... i don't think anyone cares. even dylan himself.

I would also love to hear Bob re-record some of his earlier alblums. I think his singing now would add a new dimension that would compliment his older work, basically like what he does on the NET.

Also a gospel alblum would be fun (like Elvis and Cash).

But my ultimate "Holy Grail?". Having lunch or a beer with Bob would be unbelievable.

What's the "Holy Grail" for Dylan fans?

The soundboard of Stuttgart 1991 in which it is finally revealed for all the world to hear and enjoy that Bob actually executed a flawless show. I am of the belief that what many mistakenly consider a "bad" show was really problem with the sound system or acoustics that night.

- A follow-up to the original Bootleg Series 1-3. Still plenty of studio stuff waiting for its day in the sun.

- Basement Tapes (yes, I said it. A double cd would suffice, I believe.)

- Live 1976

- Live 1978 (the Anti-Budokan!)

- Live 1980

- Live 1981 (Avignon plus)

- A 1960-2010 live multi-cd set to collect assorted important live recordings not necessarily from perfect shows/tours.

I know that it may sound a little petty and trivial, but I do feel that we should clarify right here and now that a koala is not, actually, a bear.

I'd love to hear an official release of that version of "Jokerman" from the Letterman show.

I know they are cute and fluffy but the truth is they are nothing but drug-addicts, their favoured 'high' being eucalyptus - this is why they appear slow and somewhat distant - they are stoned out of their tiny non-bear brains. If Bob is half the man I think he is he should open a koala rehab programme immediately.

tho' they can both become problems.. My problem was wondering how i wound up in the
'Friends and Drugs' or 'Shocking Confessions' thread and how? SUMMATION: Eucalyptus is
apparently the 'Holy Grail' for some Dylan fans... Myself, i'd still settle for some of those orig.
Bob-song manuscripts they've pulled off the Christie's list...

You ain't seen nothing yet. There are at least 100 outtakes of Clothes Line Saga, 526 reels of Tiny Tim singing and The Band playing You Goy Be Babe and Memphis Tenessee, and of course the 627 versions of the Banana Boat Song.

Bob Dylan & The Band:

From the Reels - Complete Basement

11 CD Dylan & The Hawks/Band bootleg set from 2001.

It was originally a 10 disc set.

Disc 11 was added later by someone else for some reason.

There's a lot of repetition of tracks.

http://theband.hiof.no/albums/boot_from ... ments.html

Just in case you thought the 4CD set was definitive, this came out at the same time.

Multiple takes, and looser guesses at titles, sometimes different than the usual ones.

The 14 song and 20 song acetates are recreated.

Most importantly it has The Band selections that were once going to be The Genuine Basement Tapes Vol 6.

The "Reel" titles on the CDs suggest that these follow the original tape reels.

--from alt.music.the-band, June 2001.

Here is the concept of the original 10CD set.

The order on the GBT series is unsatisfactory
(and the way the bootleggers missed out Band tracks and even one Dylan track),
and I preferred the order on the original tapes.

Of course the order on the tapes is not the reel order either
so with the help of Invisible Republic / Heylin it is possible to work out a very rough reel order.

It got too hard for reels 5-7 so they are just lumped together
(these are the mostly original basement tracks anyway, and they sit nicely together).

As you all know the details of the reels is sketchy at best,
so at times just rough 74min groupings are used.

An overriding principle was to preserve the reel order.

Somewhere along the line it was realised that the 'historical artifacts'
associated with the Basements were not represented,
so the 14 song Acetate disk needed to be added.

Then of course the alternate takes were not represented either,
so the '20 song Acetate disk' was added.

I know that this completly duplicated the '14 song Acetate',
but the 14 song one was the acetate that was very special,
and deserved a disk in it's own right!.

The Publisher's demos were different again.

Different tracks and different mixes.

So these were added to this set as well.

Finally, there were all those 'mostly Band' tracks that had emerged over the years,
so they are just assembled onto a misc CD (#10).

In the time since this 'fan project' was completed,
there have been a couple of other 'Basement' releases, one a 5 CDR set, nice quality,
but lacking many tracks (..almost nothing from reel 1) emerged,
and more recently the 4CD 'Tree with Roots' emerged.

These have been carefully compared as well, and where appropriate,
tracks were upgraded to the original 10CD set.

Recently, someone else seems to have gotten hold of this set
and and thinks that there were some other missing tracks
(I'm not particularly convinced that reel 11 contains any new basement tracks at all...)
and added these tracks to reel #11.
