one must be naive to think the statement 'bob was the first to do angry pop songs' is a compliment. where did he get the angry song form? what pre 1950 angry songs can you think of?
'big rock candy mountain' has drug references
'the lady is a tramp'

side note: I was inspired by young sara bareilles' spectacular song 'king of anything', download here and how sweet music/angry lyrics are dylanesque

This song is profane. Eff this, eff that. It's obviously listening to this devil's music, that has given you such a forked tongue, thickboy. I feel deeply violated.

Yes, Solo, my alluringly lovely friend... I think we are all from the UK... the UK is brimming with handsome chaps... and then there are us five!... British ladies are very lucky, are they not?... now, I'm off to my local supermarket, where the foxy check-out ladies work, to see if they sell any Steve Darmody CD's... I want to find out if he has wrote any angry songs!

I think Sony should release a special Bob Dylan's Angry Songs CD. There could be a bonus disc, a special Deluxe Edition if you will, with covers of angry songs by other artists or other songs by angry artists. Fans would pay a bundle for such a collection as this.

As we experienced with Christmas In the Heart, there's a market out there for anything with Bob Dylan's name and voice on it.

**Keeping in mind, of course, that Christmas In the Heart is the finest album of holiday music ever released. :D

This is true, but I think we need a Dylan collection of them. And he can include folk songs
hymns, nursery rhymes etc... I'm good with that.

Catullus (c. 87-54 BC) wrote angry lyric invectives that still shock and inspire other writers. I'm not sure his words will evade the electronic censors guarding our purity.

Latin text and translation Carmen 16 by Catullus
Line Latin text English translation[14][15][16][17]
1 Pedicabo ego vos et irrumabo, I will sodomize you and face-fuck you,
2 Aureli pathice et cinaede Furi, Cock-sucker Aurelius and catamite Furius,
3 qui me ex versiculis meis putastis, You who think, because my verses
4 quod sunt molliculi, parum pudicum. Are delicate, that I am modest.
5 Nam castum esse decet pium poetam For it's right for the devoted poet to be chaste
6 ipsum, versiculos nihil necessest (necesse est); Himself, but it's not necessary for his verses to be so.
7 qui tum denique habent salem ac leporem, Verses which then have taste and charm,
8 si sunt molliculi ac parum pudici If they are delicate and sexy,
9 et quod pruriat incitare possunt, And can incite an itch,
10 non dico pueris, sed his pilosis And I don't mean in boys, but in those hairy old men
11 qui duros nequeunt movere lumbos. Who can't get their flaccid dicks up.
12 Vos, quod milia multa basiorum You, because you have read of my thousand kisses,
13 legistis, male me marem putatis? You think I'm a sissy?
14 Pedicabo ego vos et irrumabo. I will sodomize you and face-fuck you.

I've always sensed a brewing, simmering anger in the whole feel and lyrics of the Beastie Boys track 'Fight For Your Right To Party'... it's a deep, brooding, guttural anger... it's almost frenzied in its anger venom.
