One interesting design tidbit is the copper dome - a nod to his Russian heritage.

All the tile used in the house was made right on the property.
The guys who made it became a very high end tile company, Walker & Zanger.
This was published in one of their books.
They had kilns brought to the property.

The land in Malibu where this house is is not in danger of slipping into the ocean.

Didn't Bob say (or joke) in Chronicles that he was going to be working in metal? Welding? :?
Actually, he was referring to heavy metal. His next album will be a departure from the cowboy blues.

His Malibu mansion won't seem so strange after people hear his heavy metal solos.

I’m going to be in LA this week.

Is it worth the drive to see Bob’s house in Malibu?

PS - I am not a stalker.

You won't see much, just the gate, if numerous accounts
are anything to go by. You might discern something among
the trees, but the view is firmly obscured. That's my 2 cents
worth..

I have been by his home twice and could not see anything to speak of. The gate was open and there was a dumpster near the gate. It took every once of self-control not to go dumpster diving or just walk in like I was the gardener. On his Theme Time Radio Hour show on Guns he closed the show saying he was going to "pick up a shoulder holster so if you see me coming you better give me a wide berth."

I didn't want to take any chances.

That’s the only reason for the The Neverending Tour, he’s still paying off the cowboys cash in hand.
