See the Pyramids along the Nile
Watch the sunrise from a tropic isle
Just remember, darling, all the while
You belong to me

See the marketplace in old Algiers
Send me photographs and souvenirs
Just remember when a dream appears
You belong to me

I'll be so alone without you
Maybe you'll be lonesome too
And blue

Fly the ocean in a silver plane
See the jungle when it's wet with rain
Just remember 'til you're home again
You belong to me

I'll be so alone without you
Maybe you'll be lonesome too
And blue

Fly the ocean in a silver plane
See the jungle when it's wet with rain
Just remember 'til you're home again
You belong to me

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=berL-80EPmg is the definitive recording by the great Jo Stafford. Listen closely to the singing--a genius is at work.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvlT61Hs ... re=related is Patti Page's version, not as powerful but still lovely.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIEBErVs ... re=related is a do-woppy version by the Duprees. Some pitch problems in the lead vocal, but not enough to wreck the song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYd_8I44 ... re=related is Dean Martin bringing his lazy vibrato to the song. It's quite amazing how a smoking jacket and easy chair can completely change the tenor of the song. Listen closely to the vocal for another kind of genius at work.

Exactly what Bob did/tried to do with I'll Remember You and Emotionally Yours, I like the lyrics of You Belong To Me, so simple.

Another great performance by Bob of an old, classic song which is sublime because of the extreme simplicity of the performance: (probably some new members here have never seen this, from the 1987 George Gershwin Celebration Concert in Brooklyn)
