Scenario.
Tour is announced for Spring 2010.
The entire current band are given the boot and ala 1987, Dylan is to do a new tour with a new band. They (Heartbreakers, Bad Seeds etc) open the show with a 60 minute set, after a break, they back Dylan for a 75-90 minute set.

Would you prefer the current show for the remainder of Bob's touring career, or a complete shake up like the above scenario?
Also, what band do you think would be the best to tour with Bob?
No keyboard for Bob, if he isn't playing guitar, he's still centre stage with harp and mic in hand.

He should hire the Magic Band who continue to amaze despite the absence of Beefheart. Failing that the North Mississippi All Stars would be a good move...

I think he's doing just fine with the current set-up.

What if they did a set of Stu singing Tom Waits songs, then brought Bob out?

I really have no desire to see it, I mean, a shake up would probably be interesting, but the band is sounding hot right now---why F that up?????

why f it up?
well, that's the idea behind the thread.
a little bit of discussion to see if people want to see the current set up go on indefinitely or if they would prefer to see something outrageously different.
i shouldn't really have used the term Temples In Flames in the thread title. i didn't mean it be a rehash of that tour or to try and sing/play tracks the same way with same arrangements.
purely a new tour and set structure with completely new backing band was my hypothetical scenario.

He should get Larry Campbell back and throw some traditional songs into the mix. And I'd like to see regular duets with openers during the encores.

After I posted and got back to work I thought to myself..gee frickin wiz, it would be GREAT to see Dylan go out with some cool band and tear through some sets.

It's just that the show I saw Halloween was the best in a long time, and I have no complaints about Bob Dylan or his band at the moment.
