Is anyone else as aghast as I am at the numerous and outrageous
mistakes in this slipshod book? Pick any song you love and read they lyrics
and you'll swear Simon and Schuster outsourced the editing job to
someone in a non-english speaking country who was in a terrible rush.

For instance...look at the lyrics for ANY SONG in Freewheelin and they're just wrong wrong wrong.....

What happened??

I got it as a present.

And what I'm "bothered" about is the slipshod work being done
in Dylan's name.

I don't have the book but in a lot cases the actual copyrighted lyrics are different from how Dylan sings them. Since the lyrics he sings aren't copyrighted they can't print them

Songs on Freewheelin' particularly do suffer from this. Check the lyrics at bobdylan.com, it's the same thing

Yea i know what you mean i paid £35 and i am a bit pissed at the job done on it. i don't thin bob put this together.

yes there are a few songs on there i haven't heard of (Cose i don't Bootleg) but i would expect that.

the problems i found are:
1. missing albums (such as Dylan)
2. songs missing on self portait.
3. the picture not being pritted on the actual book real anoys me.
4. they could have put extra pictures in as a bonus (maybe him recording them etc).
5. better paper i feel i'm gonna rip it if i'm not carful.
6. they should have waited till next year and put his new albums lyrics in.

but after all this pissyness i'm quite pleased with the book i did want proper copies of the songs and apart from a few teething problems i'm pleased. :D :D

The version of LYRICS put out by KNOPF was far superiour in every way...
right on down to paper stock..and the inclusion of all his typewritten rough drafts...and the lyrics were CORRECT...
