yeah, it sure is. I was young then, had just gotten my driver's license and drove me, my sister, and a couple of brothers we knew to the show. I do, come to think of it, remember driving into Baltimore, finding we were going south on a northbound one way road. My other memory is that it was a big place and we somehow mysteriously (aided by drugs, likely) found ourselves right at the front of the stage, like leaning up against it. I remember my heart was in my hands. Quite amazing to me that my Bobsession then went underground for almost 3 decades, to re-emerge as full-blown Baddiction!

Ah, thanks for checking this.

hey becca lecca, it sounds like you saw Bob in 1978 just a couple of months before I did. I was a huge Bob fan then and I remember thinking this was a "once in a lifetime experience" seeing Bob live. Of course I've seen him dozens of times since then but who new back then? I was a sophomore in college, and I saw Neil Young and Crazy Horse doing that Live Rust tour a week or two earlier. I figured I would be content if I never saw another concert the rest of my life....but I was wrong. The Bob concert was great. He had a big band with back up singers. My favorite song was Like A Rolling Stone. He actually talked to the crowd between songs. I'll post a link to the set list. You can see the songs from your show too.

Super! so, rainyday, why do I remember being so upset (I even wrote a poem about his pale pale face, which unfortunately I've lost), thinking that Bob would keel over an die any minute? Jeez, I wish I could go back to that night and relive it. (and don't forget that link..."wink" )

6/78 - Earl's Court- Sunday
7/81 - Earl's Court - Wednesday- spoke to Bob Shelton outside, before the show
7/4?/84 - Wembley Stadium - barrelled my way to front/centre
10/87 - Wembley Arena - Every show (5 in all, I believe). The final night, when McGuinn guested, was one of the best I've been to.
2/1991 - Hammersmith Odeon - 2 nights. The first night (Tuesday?) was the worst I've ever attended.
2?/1993 - Hammersmith- Sunday night, I think
10/1997 - Wembley Arena -Again, the Sunday
11/24/2003 - Hammersmith - excellent
11/25/2003 - Brixton, even better. As mackthefinger points out, Wicked Messenger &, especially, Yeah Heavy, were treasures.

Can I recommend the bootleg Love Sick At Wembley? No way it sounded that good on the night. At least not from where I was sitting.

I hate to think it was wasted on me, me likely wasted myself since I recall NO specifics. Especially that number 15 song: Am I Your Stepchild? What is THAT??

You have a much better memory than me, of Dylan concerts, mack. All I can remember from that night is an Ikea flat-pack falling out of the unlocked boot of my car, en route. And the fact that it wasn't Hammersmith, 1991!

It was the only show to date I've convinced my wife to come to with me. She said that she reckoned she would have liked it if she'd been able to make out the slightest word Dylan sang. To be honest, I knew the songs and I felt the same way. But the bootleg recording confirms that that was the venue and our seats' fault far more than Dylan's.

I trust you caused a nightmare of a traffic jam on the North Circular.

Luckily, the flat-pack ejectory incident occurred on my back-doubles, North Circular-free, Wembley route. I did take the missus to that 1991 Hammer(horror)smith show. She's not seen him since. I wonder why. She did, however, opine that she found him 'sexy', when he ambled on at the 1987 Wembley closing show, after McGuinn and Petty had done their thing. We were 10 rows from the front, and dead centre. That was a great Dylan concert.

I've seen him every time he's come through the Twin Cities area since around 1990, I'll have to look up the exact dates but I'll post them when I do. I also went to see him in Rochester, MN in Sept of 2006 and in Shakopee when he played with Paul Simon around 1998 or 99, like I say I'll have to look up the exact date. That show in Shakopee was a killer, one of the best I've seen - one of my fondest memories is hearing him perform Desolation Row there. And he also did a duet with Paul Simon on Sounds of Silence which was amazing. My other favorite is the one he did in Midway Stadium in St Paul in August of 2005 - I remember a beautiful harmonica solo he did on Just Like a Woman in that show.
