This is exactly why we need a separate forum for off topic topics.

You wanna talk about a mysterious force beyond human imagination somehow setting in motion the development of the universe on down to the evolution of life on our little pale blue dot, we can talk. You wanna talk about a 4000 year old planet and a snake and you mean it literally, we don't have much to say to one another.

regardless of what you believe took place after the beginning -- something that was there "before" had to start it all -- you still end up w/something outta nothing, no matter how you slice it. when science can come up w/a convincing theory describing that first whatever - then I will consider that the creation of something maybe did not happen.

on the other hand -- altho I dont buy into the entire theory of evolution -- to say that things dont evolve seems (imo) pretty blind. why cant God have created evolution as part of the plan?

It is highly unlikely that life evolved in the organic soup. Look at the research papers by Hubert P. Yockey in the Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1970's, for more on this.

However, it is very clear that speciation and evolution do happen and can be observed today. Take Galapagos island finches for example, or succulent plants in western South Africa.

evolution: what u evolve into as a person is your creation/evolution. thank God he created u with that freedom/choice. everything that evolves comes to an end. check out the shell before u check out the egg. the beginning before the present or end. all it takes is for u to believe as a child believes (simple trust) and ask Jesus into your heart wether u believe he is or not and he will come. the rest is up to u . good luck evolving.

For everybody's information; humans were neither created or were the product of evolution. We were put here by aliens from a planet far, far away from a very distant galaxy. Our forefathers searched far and wide for a planet that could sustain life and found it...earth...then sent down Adam and Eve to populate it.

AND THAT'S THE TRUTH. BELIEVE IT!

And where did the aliens from the far away planet come from?

There's always been more hard evidence for evolution, and this amount of evidence increases everyday. The creation theory has always relied on faith to carry on being accepted. I'm all for faith in certain things, (not so much the bible) but there's too much evidence not to accept evolution

Is there any evidence that Homo sapiens is evolving? Which way are we going, and what will be the step?

I can't see us evolving until our climate and environment change. There are few large advantageous characteristics in this current state of the world, except may some dylanesque characteristics

Our planet is like one big flower pot. Things grow in it. We are just part of the things that grow and evolve. Our planet has just the right elements for this to happen. Thats all there is to it. Well, thats one theory.

But there is no doubt - the theories of creation and evolution can co-exist.

"They got Charles Darwin trapped out there on Highway 5..."

There isn't a reputable scientist who supports Creationism. "Creationism" requires a convoluted series of bizarre arguments (dinosaurs on Noah's ark, for instance) which even a moderately educated mind finds laughable.

Creationists, however, have put themselves in league with the Intelligent Design folk, who postulate that some rational mind must be behind the complexities of life. This kind of a priori thinking appears less superstitious and mythical, but is ultimately flawed. Creationists have only agreed to this alliance to undermine Evolution in order to force school districts to allow/force science teachers to present a Young Earth, 6 day Creation on the same level as evolution.

We have only one world to examine, and only we can examine it--now that the Dolphin School of Natural History has lost its funding--and it is easy, tempting, comforting to embrace the idea that the natural world points to us, like God's index finger, anointing us His Chosen. But we have to reckon with the fact that for millions of years the world got on without us. We cannot re-run the experiment to see if it is "likely" or not that primordial soup leads to Bob Dylan.
