Stumbled on a Rolling Stone article from last January talking about artists who they would like to see do album concerts, no matter how ridiculous the idea would be. They suggested Highway 61 Revisited, with back up suggestions being Street-Legal and Infidels. Of course he wouldn't do it, but what would you think would be an interesting Album Concert from Bob Dylan?

I think it'd be cool to do Blood On The Tracks, John Wesley Harding, and maybe Oh Mercy. I wouldn't mind seeing a Street-Legal concert, it'd be interesting to see what new arrangements would be made, if any.

What would be your choices?

My choice would be a John Wesley Harding
album concert with Bob deciding in the last minute
before the show to do a bunch of other stuff instead.
That would be the only reassuring scenario here.

Hasn’t all the live Highland performances been full? I don’t think he trimmed any verses off.

Will never happen of course. But I would love to hear a BOTT concert.
Not just because it's my favourite album, but also because we would finally get to hear a live version of Liliy,Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts.

^ Set in a Christmas TV special like the Andy Williams specials of old. Including Christmas trees, jumpers and fake snow...

First thought was H61, but we consistently get a lot of those songs all the time. I'd go Times they are a changin'. Have not been able to catch any of those songs live.

John Wesley Harding gets my vote as well. It would be great to hear that album played live all the way through!

Triplicate, hands down. "Braggin'" could be a staple in the set.

What all 30 songs? I don't think I could handle that in one sitting!

As I Went Out One Morning, Drifters Escape and Dear Landlord would likely be highlights for me if he did a whole JWH concert. I wonder what kind of reaction All Along the Watchtower would get? That along with I'll Be Your Baby Tonignt are really the only two songs that got any major play from that album (really only AAtW, I guess.). That would be an amazing concert! It be neat for it to be in an outdoor venue, somewhere in the woods. It's all a dream but it sure is a nice dream!

I could. It's a short album, well under two hours.

I'd be tempted to pick Knocked Out Loaded just to hear "Brownsville Girl". I could always grab a beer during "They Killed Him".

Springsteen has done this to great effect with his fans. Christmas In the Heart and Knocked Out Loaded have both been suggested and I think those would be fantastic but honestly having him perform Highway 61 Revisited and Blonde On Blonde have a serious appeal. Being able to listen to those albums in their entirety with the current band would be pretty good and make these well written songs listenable to my ears.

At the age of 76, Don't think Bob would be down for a 6 hour concert

John Wesley Harding would be pretty cool but it wouldn't sound a thing like the original album with the current band and voice, so for that reason I'm leaning towards Time Out Of Mind or "Love and Theft". If he played Slow Train Coming in full that would make a pretty big statement too, although I think Trouble In Mind probably makes a pretty big statement anyway.

If we go back to Rolling Thunder era Bob my answer would be different.

But assuming we're talking about Bob as he is today.

I'd want him to perform either.

Street Legal or Tempest in their entirety.
