'fisheman's daughter, weaver of destiny,
the ritual washing down in preparation for the mystical marriage,
the lotus of isis representing the feminine or passive power,
the trembling lion- symbol of the devouring agent in the alchemical process of separation, and Isis's veil

'once you see what's under the veil, what happens to you? you die, don't you? or go blind.'

Yep. it's a very interesting interview.
I'm relatively new to Dylan and became interested in him when trying to analyse his lyrics.
I'd never heard Golden Loom as a song...just looked at the lyrics. I'd imagined the song as a reflective and melancholy lament and was stunned to hear it for the first time. It made me think my analysis was way off the mark. The interview changed my mind. Dylan reflects some of what Yeats has to say about masks, and the mention of Sufism as an influence reassured me that Dylan's lyrics have layers of meaning depending on the experience and knowledge of the audience.
I'd never heard of Renaldo and Clara. After reading the interview I understand your interest.
Thanks for posting it.

thanks for the link.

So after your previous post i've been looking at Isis and the veil.

Isis:

(wiki)"Sometimes she is depicted as holding a lotus"

(Brittanica online) "Isis was a good queen who supported her husband and taught the women of Egypt how to weave..."

(http://www.hermeticum.info/symbols.html) "A statue covered in a black veil was erected on the presumed tomb of Isis, close to Memphis. On the statue’s pedestal was engraved the following inscription: “I am everything that was, [QUID FUIT], everything that is [QUID EST], that will be [QUID ERIT] and no mortal has yet dared to lift my veil. ”

I hadn't known the veil covered a statue. I remembered there was something about a woman of stone in the interview:

(Interviewer)
"The poet Robert Bly has written about the image of the Great Mother as a union of four force fields consisting of the nurturing mother, like Isis (though your Isis seems more ambiguous); the Death Mother (like the woman in "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue"); the Ecstatic Mother (like the girl in "Spanish Harlem Incident"); and the Stone Mother who drives you mad (like Sweet Melinda who leaves you howling at the moon in "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues").

It's a bit of a shame this has been moved here, because it's a discussion about Dylan's songwriting. I think by moving it from the General Discussion it just means less people see it and contribute to it.
