Spam was bad enough before it became a verb. Even a fine melted cheese was hard put to improve the flavour of Spam - I believe it was an acronym including the words Spice, Pork and Machine but I cannot find a decent google (which was previously an amount)

Who can I petition to make this go away for established members? It is rather annoying...

"You cannot make another post so soon after your last."

Thanks,

Besides, people who really feel like spamming would just wait until they are able to make a new post so it wouldn't really stop a spammer.

and this, too.

At any rate, whether it's for this or for that, I reckon it's a clever move.
Which I've come to appreciate and that contributes to make this forum the best and more productive and efficient forum I've ever attended.

And the first one dates back to 1994, so I think I've got a say in the matter...
 :D

That's credible testimony indeed. Personally I wish there were more instances of me encountering the message, but traffic is down and there's less and less crosstalk between threads
