Expecting Rain

Seems my ability to edit my posts has disapeared -- the little "button" in the lower right of the frame is no longer there. Anybody know what's up wit dat? I've checked both newer and older posts -- seems to have gone from them all.

Yes. To prevent editing of posts a long time after they were first written, whereby the following posts loose their meaning, we have placed a time limit on editing.

So people better think quickly if they change their mind :)

This is really starting to annoy me. Often times I will not notice typos until some hours later. It never seemed like we had much of a problem with people completely changing the meaning of their posts, so I question the necessity of the limitation...

Oh yes indeedy.... What the Mighty Monkey said! I have, in the past, added links that were not available at the time of the original post, etc. Granted, such can be added in a seperate post but,....

I've whinged about the new editing time-limit on a few threads.

I'm a serial editor- or I was once. But now I get really irked at not being able to correct typos/grammatical errors/spelling errors. Such errors may be insignificant to other posters, but they distress me. I type fast and often inaccurately as the flow of ideas takes me. I've tried to use the "Preview" facility", but there's always SOMETHING I miss.

This measure was introduced to prevent a very small minority from altering the CONTENT of their posts (something I don't recall ever doing myself, by the way). The words "sledgehammer", "crack" and "nut" spring to mind.

thank you for your comment, Eddie, like you i type fast, usually accurately because i learned it at commercial college. but i also sometimes have typos ... nevertheless. it's an issue and remains an issue. have a lovely weekend.

aye. me being rationed with few editing minutes don't favor anyone in particular.
it merely mars me and my satisfaction with the final post.
