I am trying to free disk space by deleting lots of big files, but so far to no effect. - Is there a function to empty the trash, perhaps?
Until then, I am unable to upload new updates.

Do you mean on your computer?

If you mean on your computer, rather than on this site or the server, then yes - you need to empty the trash. I don't know what OS system your computer uses, but a simple google should give you full instructions, it's an easy task when you know how. One word of warning, do make sure you really want to throw the stuff away - if not, back it up to another disc first!!!!

Gosh, that is more tricky - not to mention a terrible shame if you are having to delete things, as the archive value of this site is enormous, as you must know! I hope you can save as much as possible - is it a question of paying more money for more space?

Some searching around mentioned that you could be using a plugin to backup the site every so often. If this is the case, could there be some backups taking up space?

I wouldn't think there would be huge amounts of storage in use for E.R. as images and other files are typically hosted elsewhere and only linked to here?

If you're using cPanel, there is a trash can to empty:

Also if using cPanel, you can examine what is using space this way:

My son had set his surveillance cams to send video to the server. 712 GB of video was more than expected. Deleted most, and now all is fine again.

Having to choose between deleting your son's video stuff or the ER content, I'm glad to see that you made the right decision...

As always, a big Thank You for everything you do for this site.
