Bob Dylan sells tickets for 500 euros at the Liceu
The singer's website still offers tickets for his two concerts in March at the Barcelona theater

economiadigital.es

Barcelona, March 1, 2018

When Bob Dylan announced that he would pass through Barcelona, Madrid and Salamanca in March, the followers of the singer, poet and Nobel laureate in literature in 2016 marked the calendar dates in red. Not only those of the concert, but also those of the day when the tickets were put on sale.

In Salamanca, for example, the locations for the only concert that will be held in the city of León sold out in less than an hour. In Barcelona, the tickets available to the Liceu lasted a little longer but the result ended up being the same. The Catalan theater hung the full capacity poster on its website.
The hope, however, is not completely lost for the most bitter fans of the author of Blowin 'in the wind. The official page of the musician does offer a few tickets for the concerts of March 30 and 31 at the Liceu. The availability will not last long, less than a month for the show there are about 15 for each of the days.

Doing with them, yes, requires a considerable financial outlay. They are VIP tickets that in Madrid and Salamanca have also been sold out and each of them costs between 420 and 500 euros. In addition to a privileged situation in the first rows is included within the merchandising price of the artist and an exclusive laminated entry.

First time at the Liceu
Dylan can consider his European tour a success without even having started it, confirming that his figure retains the mystical aura that has always accompanied him. The lucky ones who did not lose a second to buy their tickets and those willing to make an important economic effort, will undoubtedly enjoy the debut of the icon of rock at the Liceu de Barcelona.

The performance of the Minnesota native is part of the Guitar Bcn 2018 festival, which brings together national and international stars such as Dylan, Ringo Starr and Rosario on different dates and venues.

The folk singer is undoubtedly the biggest attraction of the series of performances scheduled by the festival. The Liceu will leave the opera during a weekend to make room for a tireless narrator who has become a living history of music.

Dylan continues with his dilated like a rolling stone. At 76 he will tour 26 cities in 2 months accompanied by his band, his guitar and his unmistakable harmonica. His torn voice continues to leave a mark where it happens.

For those coming to Barcelona from abroad, I should warn You to go there with time, because these days may take surprises in Catalonia. There are some surprise rallies or streets and roads cuts for the intervention by Spain of the autonomous government in Catalonia, having now 9 of their members in prison and 6 exiled. The situation is serious and there are talks of "blocking the whole country", so even the shos might be at risk. I don't think this will happen this week, but there can be blocked streets or roads for sure.

Anyway, You don't have to fear for yourselves if You avoid he conflict zones, as the only violent situations had been when the police had intervened to stop the protests. Simply try to not get trapped in it.

I don't think it's likely as I think it won't be this week, but there could be a general strike and blocking of roads (so Bob and his crew could have trouble for travelling from Madrid to Barcelona) and services, so I don't know what could happen with it. It may depend in what happens in the two following days.

As hana says, these things don't appear much in the media, because the Spanish government is trying to hide many things and because if it appeared in the media it would be easier to be aborted by them. Small groups of people are informed and then ask for support.

That's why I don't think it's likely that huge things happen this week. But I'm sure there will still be road and street cuts these days. The will is to cause (economic) trouble to the Spanish government to force them to negotiate a solution.

Drum

Philip Levine, 1928 - 2015
Detroit , MI

Leo’s Tool & Die, 1950

In the early morning before the shop
opens, men standing out in the yard
on pine planks over the umber mud.
The oil drum, squat, brooding, brimmed
with metal scraps, three-armed crosses,
silver shavings whitened with milky oil,
drill bits bitten off. The light diamonds
last night’s rain; inside a buzzer purrs.
The overhead door stammers upward
to reveal the scene of our day.
We sit
for lunch on crates before the open door.
Bobeck, the boss’s nephew, squats to hug
the overflowing drum, gasps and lifts. Rain
comes down in sheets staining his gun-metal
covert suit. A stake truck sloshes off
as the sun returns through a low sky.
By four the office help has driven off. We
sweep, wash up, punch out, collect outside
for a final smoke. The great door crashes
down at last.

In the darkness the scents
of mint, apples, asters. In the darkness
this could be a Carthaginian outpost sent
to guard the waters of the West, those mounds
could be elephants at rest, the acrid half light
the haze of stars striking armor if stars were out.
On the galvanized tin roof the tunes of sudden rain.
The slow light of Friday morning in Michigan,
the one we waited for, shows seven hills
of scraped earth topped with crab grass,
weeds, a black oil drum empty, glistening
at the exact center of the modern world.

The 2002 Spring Tour had the return of Solid Rock to the set (after 21 years) a mere 5 days after Easter. In The Garden was played a few nights later too.

In 2009 "GOTTA SERVE SOMEBODY" opened three European shows in the spring on consecutive Sundays in Denmark, in Germany, and in The Netherlands; and the last one of those three was Easter Sunday.

My first Dylan show was Cardiff 2002 and I remember him playing Solid Rock. It would be great if he opened with Change My Way of Thinking!
We have tickets to Saturday's show, can't wait.
If any of you are looking for something to do Saturday afternoon we'll be playing Dylan songs in Jazz Petit on Carrer Provença at 1pm. Hope to see some of you there.

Oh yeah, if you're new to Barcelona, be aware of pickpockets around La Rambla. They're rife!

It’d be nice to see a little Gospel pop out
during these last days of Semana Santa.

Listen to the man!

My 18-year-old self was pickpocketed on La Rambla by a large group of children within seconds of entering the street from the metro below.

So, would I be correct in saying that all five shows so far had similar, yet still unique setlists? What do we make of this? Is this intentional to keep things kinda fresh or does it just take a lil longer this time to settle on the "final 20"?

Also, do you think the singalong part in "Desolation Row" will stick? I seem to remember about ten years ago he did something similar on "Just Like A Woman" and that was repeated a few nights, before he ditched the song completely.
