Just got a message from a concert organizer. Bob will be in Germany late April 2018. Right now it's just a rumor and nothing's confirmed I guess. But there'll be a show on April 21st in the Dortmund/Bochum area.

It's not a rumor, the dates are on ticketmaster.de (and on the 2018 tour thread).

The route looks a bit like a bird.

But why are these cities more absurd than Lingen, Tambach, Schwäbisch Gmünd, Bad Mergentheim or Hannover, just to name a few?

maybe there are so many absurd places he visits on a single tour? by the way: Hannover is not absurd – it's a city and it's very easy to get there.

I don't see why the cities would be absurd either.

If you look at it from an American perspective, the dates read as:

Neu-Ulm / München area
Leipzig
Krefeld / Cologne area
Bielefeld / Hannover area
Nürnberg
Baden Baden / Stuttgart Area

Just like Mountain View = San Francisco or Irvine = Los Angeles, Port Chester = New York City, Morrison = Denver or Hoffman Estates = Chicago None of these US cities are any more absurd than Krefeld or Baden Baden.

from an American perspective it's just somewhere in Germany ("where's the highway to Rome", we were asked by an American somewehere in Southern France in the 1980s)

From an American perspective it’s:

“Lucky freakin’ Euros!
Another double-legged Tour.”

and

“How to do Portugal / Spain / Italy?”

I didn't mean from the perspective of a slightly dim-witted US tourist, but from the perspective of a US touring artist. They might want to know if they have the entire country covered and apart from the places they just visited this year, they have.

Apart from the capital...

I asked my German friend which of these cities would be best to visit to see him in and before answering, the first thing she did was comment on how weird the cities were and how strange it was for him to even play in some of them

So, it's Krefeld and Bielefeld for me this time! Looking forward to the new arrangements of Thunder and Honest, guess he won't change the setlist.

Tickets for the non existing city seem to sell very fast! Ticketmaster still has a bunch to offer, but on Eventim the show is practically sold out on day one. At least on their seating map...

I thought the same.
But on the other hand: Isn't it amazing that they are able to sell even a few tickets for a show in a town that doesn't exist at all?

Bielefeld does not exist, so only people who are part of the Bielefeld Conspiracy can obtain tickets. Problem was the leaking of the show to the common people. Everthing is fixed right now, we are searching the whistleblower. Sorry for any inconvenience.

@Everyone who ordered ticktes via Ticketmaster in Germany:

If they charged you with multiple postages for different shows but deliverd all tickets in one and the same sending, you can call them

+49 (0) 3040818824

to get the unnecessary postages refunded.

It seems like eventim and Ticketmaster have split up the German ticket market among themselves (Sometimes the venues or some local newspapers sell tickets, too, but often they are using the said platforms).

So everybody should try either platform. I think, eventim sells faster (or holding more tickets back). I won't recommend none of them over the other, though.

btw: what preselling?

well, there's a reason, see:
http://www.faz.net/aktuell/wirtschaft/b ... 24174.html

in short: the German federal Cartel Office is after eventim

Well, maybe your friend doesn't remember that Bob once said that he wants to play all the places that Elton John has played before. Elton did play Neu-Ulm, Krefeld and Baden Baden before, so it was time for Bob to catch up. Nothing unusual about that at all.

There's currently four (!) tickets left on Ticketmaster, not counting Gold Ticket deals and indeed none on Eventim. Must be the Saturday that makes this show so popular?

All the German shows are selling very fast, only Krefeld is a bit behind, but I'm sure that will change once Bielefeld is completely sold out.

Interesting. Wonder iof this will result in any changes to the "we're holding back the good saets for later" policy. Like, I cannot imagine that Eventim is happy that they can't offer tickets for Bielefeld right now while Ticketmaster still can. Do they really still sit on extra seat and don't release them now?

While I agree that Eventim has misued its powers in the past with high fees etc., it certainly was nice to just have one place to check for tickets.

Splitting up tickets between different outlets is certainly a step back to the times when you had to call ten different ticket outlets to see if they still had (hard) tickets for any given show. And like it's been mentioned here before: Giving *Ticketmaster* a share of the tickets is going from bad to worse.
